Good
Great pressure - high energy
Serong - a perfect replacement for Neale
Tabs - hopefully that silences a few.
Ryan - back to his best
Cracker of a game - shows that you don’t need a squillion goals to enjoy the footy
Schultz and Crowden give us some grunt in the forward line
JLo - looked like a very well coached game.

Not so good
Fredrick may need a bit more time in the seconds
Matera - not convincing - Crowden is now ahead of him in the pecking order (do owls have pecking orders?)

Question mark - Darcy
Darcy had a couple of very nice taps but had lots of quiet periods. Lobb going into the ruck at the beginning of the last quarter was critical.

I thought Crowden pecked pretty good. Good pickings with two goals. Tabs marked a couple of good ones and four goals (I think). Taken him a while but he's coming along and toughening up.
Yeah wondered what Fredericks was doing there today .
He seemed to be running around a lot.

Leave Frederick there, WTB, keep the faith. Darcy will be good, just needs a good run. Not disgracing himself. Serong goes alright. Loved the effort, and had we lost, still would have been pleased. Winning, however, is marginally better. Also love 7s post match. Very generous (as usual).

Fredericks went ok but he's still raw. No problems with endeavour though, so I'm happy to keep him in.

Darcy was ok, Margetts was the one well below par.

Serong - bloody ripper. Mundy - still AAA. Tabs - told ya haha

You can't fault the effort and the polish will come. I think we're on track.

The last thing I want to do is defend the number 6 but he's one of three out there. Every questionable call is not being made by him.

Nobody defends number 6......ever. Didn't see much to get angry about, but I know it was there.

They've obviously told Freddie to be 'the link player' ...and he's trying to work out where he's got to be to be that player.

I like that they have him running up down the inside of square rather than hanging out on the boundary getting 'an easy one'.

He'll work it out, and if we have tp carry him for a while ...so be it.

I'd rather carry him, rather some others, but reckon they need to give him short periods in a defined position, just to get him into the game... and some confidence.

He'll be right...just needs some time & patience. ...And no rain.

Fredericks Is quick. I feel that he might need to realise doing the team thing is being selfish and not doing the “team thing”

I thought Fredrick looked like he was ball watching and a little lost today but the signs are there, when he chases hard he's gonna put all sorts of extra pressure on players with the ball.

It took Serong four games of roughly 10 possessions a game before he got 22 and 24 in his next two games, Fredricks has now played 3 games against top of the table teams, WC, GEE and Coll, we have to leave him in to gain confidence and fast track his development.

When he relaxes and feels comfortable he'll be a jet.

Totally agree, slammer. We must persist with this young bloke. He'll be a ripper. It will take only one good game to get his confidence up, and he'll be away.

Hypen, I do think that Margetts does make or influence most if not all the bad decisions against Freo.

The good:
It was all bloody good - even the rain held off - we showed them how to play a game of footy and bloody well walked off with the whole bloody truckload of chocolates!

Nothing wasn't good, even not so good - that was a couple of hours of pure goodsville.

The number of situations called in favour of Collingwood in the third quarter had me seriously wondering if the umps had been teed up by the afl to ensure Collingwood remain in the eight by any means. Some of the decisions at critical times were worse than diabolical, And that' reflection is after I've regained my composure, such as it is.

Frederick will be great he just looked a bit nervous from where we were sitting. That Tobe Watson goes alright too.
