I thought Matera played a good role but nothing to highlight. Crowden should play again. I think if Sturt is fit next week, he takes Fredericks position (unfortunately). Agree Cam to replace Matera; however I did like Matera's pace.

Bell needs to get the cheque book out and sign him up for another few years now, his price is only going to go up Every game he plays from now until the end of his current contract.

The only thing Matera did was get easily outmarked repeatedly. Sure, he's not the marking target you want forward but if the ball is kicked to you, you've gotta put some pressure on and try to bring the footy to ground. He was useless last night and should be the first one on the way out of the 22.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Would be great to see Liam Henry in for Matera this week, even on limited game time he would be well worth the chance. Walters in for Colyer and Hogan or or Sturt in for Frederick and Aish in for Bewley. Hard calls on Frederick and Bewley but that's the sign of an ever improving team. Great depth!

Geez you blokes are tough. I thought Matera won every contest he was in when his opponent fell over.

He is only 5ft high so not really a marking target up forward.

I thought Bewley was Ok. Aish has a few question marks to me....lets get Sturts ankle 'absolutely right ' before he plays again, get Henry in for Matera. Leave Freddie in.

Before yesterdays game I was ready to drop Bewley, but he went ok. I like Aish too though.

On form you'd have to drop Roy. You have to admire his effort, the way he runs straight at guys - and then they just step round him. But if I was Justin, I'd be tempted to leave him in the hope that he has one good game - and then drop him.

Frederick looked lost to me, for someone supposedly quick he didn’t seem to make ground on many.
I’m happy for him to keep playing, especially with the lack of a lower competition for him to hone his skills

DBTS - Freddy?? Cmon how did you not notice his pace and run. I have checked the tracker after he showed signs of Brad Hills running patterns. He had 35 total sprint efforts - Next best on the ground was 24, next best docker was 21. In a reduced game time that is extraordinary and would be top 30 of all time..
He is a weapon and to be capable of that after 1 pre season is amazing.

What’s the point in having the best ‘running patterns’ if you don’t get the footy? I wouldn’t be dropping him yet but he’d want to play better than he did yesterday.

Davo it seems you had a premature ejaculation and Cletus you have probably wanted to rewrite your post criticising both Crowden and Lachie Schultz.

He can get the footy Goodie - Give him time. hes played 3 games and 2 games in wet weather, 1 torrential..
In the modern game, if you can run, you will be an asset. He also has skill to go with it. The fact that he can do that at this stage of his career is very unique.

Leave Freddie in..he'll learn. He might be getting a bit overwhelmed because 20000 people are cheering expectantly whenever he get tha ball. I thought the intercept mark that Crowden took 30 out at the city end was created by Freddie chasing and chasing every opponent that had the ball, causing the error
