TOPIC: A4 Bags

Snuck into the Game Day Information email: “Do not bring bags larger than an A4 piece of paper. No cloaking facilities available. Don't bring bulky items.”

Anyone who has young kids knows the challenges of trying to carry their stuff in anything smaller than a large overnight hiking bag. The A4 limit has been strictly enforced at Perth Arena a few years, and lots of people have been caught out. Mums in particular have not appreciated this rule. My wife is possibly the kindest and most gentle person I have ever known, and I had to hold her back like the security guard was Phil Read and she was Dale Kickett trying to educate him on the error of his ways.

In the absence of a cloaking room your options once you get to the gate will be limited.

Pack light. Inform your significant other.

Good tip Morgan.

Morgan’s right, if they go hard on this you’ll be off to a bad start. RAC Arena made no exceptions.

So now you’ve got a paperless ticket, but you need a sheet of A4 paper anyway to measure your bag.

Well this thread turned out a dud.

I was expecting to see some juicy goss about some woman in an Audi.

Disappointed again

Yeti, now you mention it the A4 Bags does sound like a West Coast Eagles coterie group that would meet Il Lido for a long lunch before games.

It's special circumstance. Maybe don't take the kids if you can't abide by the conditions.

Given an A4 limit has been the policy at Perth Arena for a while I don’t think it’s COVID related, more likely the policy of the security company (though the cloak room closure likely is COVID-related). You’d hope they give it some latitude given it’s a new policy, but that hasn’t been the experience at Perth Arena.

All I’m saying is that Nat Fyfe might want to check the size of his man bag if he plans on coming through the public entrance. Mine is a good 50% bigger than A4.

That's so stupid, it seems under the guise of security they want to stop you from bringing in your own food and water.

Plenty of people had carry bags and small eskies - no questions asked. Security didn't even look in my bag

All they are trying to do is to stop eagles supporters sneaking in a couple of extra Daniels each. Wear your old school Freo gear, and you'll be sweet.

If anyone can sneak in a couple of fat Daniels, I'd buy them the drink of their choice.

If Margetts is on the gate, bro, you are paying out big time.

one of my favourite memories of queuing at the main gates at Subi was seeing some guy pleading with security to let him bring in his golf clubs (which were in one of those slim half bag things) having come straight from the course to the game.

Golf clubs!
