I’m quite the Peter Bell fan but I’ve noticed that every time JLo addresses the team or fronts the media, Bell always seems to be right there watching on somewhat judgmentaly.
Now I understand it’s part of his job to keep an eye on how the coach is going about his business, but I think he could do this a little less conspicuously. The coach needs room to breathe and occasionally say things that don’t need to go on the record.
It reminds me of a school teacher trying to teach a class with the principal standing there watching
Has anyone else noticed this, or am I seeing something that isn’t there?

I think the coach is breathing a bit easier after today.

I think you’re seeing something that bothers you, but I don’t know about the coach.

Yeah. You could be right Nod. Bell always has an intense look on his face which maybe makes him look a bit more obvious than other football managers doing exactly the same thing at their respective clubs

You should just forget that Belly is in the room (unless you hear a chainsaw start up).

Isn't the often repeated strategy to simply imagine that your audience isn't wearing any clothes ... nah, maybe not a good idea in this case.

The way Longmuir works the magnets while Peter struggles to hold the board up suggests that he's already way ahead of you, Polly.

I think its habit and Bell is waiting for the tap.

Given how knackered Belly gets holding up that magnetic board for JLo, you got to admire his efforts also holding the wall up in the dressing room on game day. He puts his back into it every game.

I imagine Belly is trying to decide if he wants to be a head coach or CEO.

Or maybe he takes his role seriously, wanting nothing more than to see an old teammate and his club succeed?

Peter Bell strikes me as one of those people who makes a conscious effort to look serious when the camera is on him, but overcommits so it looks like he’s trying desperately to hold in a fart.

I wouldn’t read too much into the body language of it all.

If you watch the half time scenes again ,pan from Belly to the left ,there was fyfey staring intently at Jl,a slight smile on his face and nodding approval while JL was talking, this was after they copped a bagging , described in my previous post .great stuff

I think you could be exaggerating Belly's concerned looks. He has that same determined look on his face even when he's handing out oranges to our AFLW side at half time in the rooms. He just gives full commitment to the club and I think he expects the same from everyone else.
