I thought Darcy was useful today as well.

Darcy never gets beaten. What that means is the opposing midfielders have to worry about their man as distinct from just running to predetermined areas. And that is what Gold Coast were doing last week at the centre bounces.

Darcy is a ripper. You are looking at the most talented Freo list ever. Be excited.

That must be up there in our catalogue of ugly wins, but a great team morale boost for the team who’ve mostly been trying their guts out to get a win.

Yep, Gumnut, bring Fyfe & Blakely in, and play Fyfe at CHF, and leave Walters in the middle as well. He is our best pure centerman, almost Maurice-esque.

I don’t know how to feel after that game. At the beginning of the fourth I said to my sons if we didn’t finish strongly then I didn’t think the win mattered. We did finish strongly so I’m happy.
Great to see Brayshaw have a very strong hitout. Shame I chose this week to trade him out of my fantasy team.
Sturt looks a likely type with a bit of class.
Young had a nice follow up game.
I liked Duman, I watched him in a WAFL GF a few years ago and think he has something to offer.
I’m not sure on Shultz, I love how physical he is but I’m not sure. He’s young so we should keep playing him. I’ve defended Matera plenty, but if Shultz is available then he gets picked before Matera every time.
Griffin Logue will be worth pick 7 even though Tim English is going to awesome. As others have said we will see his best once Pearce and Hamling return.
Really good to see Sean Darcy return to a bit of form.
I can’t see why we would play Conca or Colyer ahead of youth from here on in. I’m not critical of the recruiting, they were cheap. I think particularly Conca has offered plenty of leadership.
I’ve had plenty of cracks at McCarthy but I would like to see him get a run in our forward line now we have the other three.
I want to see Acres soon and can’t wait to see Henry.

I was really underwhelmed by the game. I thought we played better is some of our losses. The game was scrappy and skills of both sides poor.

It was great to see Brayshaw and Cerra step up in the midfield and Logue is a very good player, once Pearce and Hamling are back our defence will be formidable.

Once that happen I would like to see Logue get a run in the midfield from time to time, he is a big body with a good footy brain and could help in the clearances.

Logue is finally hitting his stride. Great performance. The new guys, Sturt and Serong were right at home - no "roo stuck in the headlights" for them. Mundy was his usual reliable self. Walters is a gun. Jessie Hogan impressed (no really, he did). Tabs obviously has some sort of injury that only effects 2nd efforts. Cerra and Brayshaw starting to fulfill their potential. Lobb got to play forward most of the time and is incredibly useful.

Of course if Adelaide had kicked straight I wouldn't be saying any of this.

Agree with Sunny's assessment of the commentators.
3/4 time Alastair Lynch: Expect Adelaide to run right over the top of Freo in the last quarter.
Dunstall: You're spot on there Lynchy.

One thing that annoys me about critics bring up inaccuracy as being the obvious reason for a team's loss. Goalfront inaccuracy can often be caused by forwards being forced to take shots from difficult angles on the boundary or from beyond their range due to great defensive work. This was not the case with Adelaide as they missed some very easy shots however their was also a 3 point contribution made by our defenders forcing behinds so the number of missed shots by Adelaide was a bit exaggerated to the tune of these 3 behinds, leaving only 7 misses by the Crows.
Also what has been overlooked is the fact that we kicked the last 3 goals of the match going away after the Crows drew level on the scoreboard.

What has also not been mentioned by the 'experts' is that Freo and the Cows had the same sumber of scoring shots from similar numbers of inside 50's.

When Freo has been inaccurate in front of goals, we cop well deserved criticism of our skill levels but it seems the Cows were just unlucky because....well because they're not Freo I suppose
