Polly, I was one of the dance track pickers back in the day. I say without false modesty, I think my run of 30 days without getting bounced off has not been beaten. Most only get through a few days at most.

I put it down to providing a Doobie-free zone, but managed to get away with both Girlschool and the Red hot chili peppers. I think sometimes they kept me on because of the general outrage from their listening demographic..

Never mind the Doobies - what about a Coldplay free zone? That Chris Martin bloke.....

Stacksonthemill, 6am is a perfectly reasonable time to be getting home from the clink on Saturday after the Friday night out

You're clearly a much younger man, B1R1. Those days are long behind me.

They need to aim more at the Doobie Babies.

The local ABC team get anyone - whether a gardening expert, Drubbing or a television presenter - to come up with a 'dance track'. The only one they haven't asked yet is Mad Mick (on Saturday's Grandstand). They will (of course), it's just a matter of time - get your head around what he'll come up with (that includes you Alice from Dalwallinu who can't get enough of the Doobies).

Anyone able to explain why a limit of 40 interchanges per game - 10 per quarter (that’s quite a lot) would be a bad idea?

Yeah, purple mao, it's a bad idea because Collingwood coaches would be able to count them on their fingers. Anything past 40 confuses the heck out of them.

No idea PM. What’s the worst that could happen, it doesn’t work?

PM, it would badly restrict goal scoring, players in the modern game are not allowed to kick a goal unless they are able to head straight for the interchange as the Goal ump picks up the 2 flags.

The whole point of the shorter quarters is supposed to be to keep players fresh so the AwFL can fixture 5 day breaks to get their quota of games completed. If you reduced the rotation allowance, you increase time on the ground for a lot players. Need to find another solution.

The best way of keeping players "fresh" would be to reduce their training load, not their game time. I remember back in the day when players trained for 2 nights a week, and played 2 & 1/2 hours of footy on a Saturday, the game was a lot better to watch.

Quite possibly, those competitions which still exist on 2 nights a week training are still better to watch than most of what we see on CH7 & Fox these days.
