TOPIC: Caught Out

Western Australian Football has been run by the West Coast Eagles for the last 30 years.
The delusional WAFC has been caught out and the crap in this mornings paper shows how delusional.

Western Australian Football relies on the two AFL teams deliver more wins than losses each season and each gives a cheque to the WAFC.

Someone highlight one positive change made to the WAFL in the past thirty years except the name change on 1997 to 'Westar Rules' in an attempt to update the local competition for a more sophisticated audience. The only person to benefit was a advertising/printing firm. It was changed back to WAFL in 2000.

Read and have a chuckel...
“The total amount paid in salaries looks like a substantial number but remember it takes a significant number of people to deliver outcomes ... across all levels of footy in WA.”
Two employees with a base salary above $200,000, nine employees were paid a base salary of $130,000 or more.

And there's more..
We are taking drastic action,” Martin said.
“This is not a reaction to the recent furore but we are well advanced in a significant review of our structure, finances and expenditure.

I didn't understand where the problem with any of that was?

You can't see what the problem is?
Give the East Fremantle Football Club a call on 93395533 and ask if they see a problem.

Give any WAFL club, Suburb and Country Clubs a call. Explain why you don't see a problem??

There's an implication by you and the article that money is being misappropriated because they're paying some people professional wages.

There's no information provided to justify that. They just played to your prejudices and you followed their whistle.

I have not really been following this (I don't subscribe to the West and cancelled delivery of the paper version a few years ago). I thought the issue was a breach of privacy.

Yeah, there was a leak of their budget numbers.

The take away being that journalists are surprised that you have to pay people to do jobs that aren't journalism.

I’m not sure it’s so much how much people are being paid as how many people are being paid.

Anyone remember why the WAFC was formed and what is their purpose?
The answer is to look after West Coast interests.
They accept money from West Coast, Freo, Optus and the State Government and then grudgingly
gives some to WAFL and forget grassroots.
If anyone has knows anything the WAFC has done other than shuffle money?
Why isn't the WAFL playing?

You're not sure because they didn't provide the information to know that. It's just a broadbrushed slur that something you don't like is doing something bad.

The next step would be to flag the idea of handing their powers to an entity who ultimately answers to the Victorian government.

We are controlled by a Victorian Government and the Victorian centric AFL.
Grand Final at the MCG locked in for the next 40 years to win a election.
Remember we couldn't train in groups as they can't.
Why isn't the WAFL playing. As the WAFC continues if they don't play.
How come West Coast can just pull their WAFL team out the competition and then it's OK to for their best players to play for the Lathlain Perth Demons. In the past the WAFC stopped players wanting to leave East Perth when East Perth were aligned with West Coast.
That's my last post on this subject. Cheers.

Sure but none of that has anything to do with the article.

Was at a WAFL club training loving the noise of guys kicking calling out for the ball and comments were made how good it was getting on the turf. I made a comment about whats going on fixture wise....and the comment made was have not heard anything from the WAFC..I made a comment they are too busy counting their money..and they all agreed without saying a thing. The article..money for doing nothing..unless someone can highlight anything they have done???
