TOPIC: A quiet Sunday talking point

We did alright out of Josh Carr???
We sold the farm to get him (picks 11, 27 & 45), got 4 years out of him, then he shafted us on the way out the door and we got SFA back in return.

I used to teach young Josh. Really nice guy but I’m sure he’d agree that school learning wasn’t his thing. I’m glad he made it as a footballer.

WTB, my sister is a teacher, and knows the Carrs well, reckons they are very smart footy players, and has always had plenty of time for them. Got the old fashioned play hard on the field, & leave it there.

He never struck me as the sort of bloke who'd ever have a beer with Cousins or Kerr afterwards. He's said he hated WC at the time.

He may have cost too much, but 3 goals, BOG, 3 votes, 5 fights started. I'd say that was a bloody good return.

I find it hard to ber critical of the Josh Carr trade.... I reckon he 'put in' when he was with us. We got good value...he was one of the 1st players in how history to 'give us a bit of mongrel'.
Wev've had far worse trades....Anderson, Gumbleton and Hargreaves for instance...although i sort of understand the low value Gumbleton & Dwayne Simpson trades if they had come off...

But - whilst he was a decent 13 game servant whilst we had him...1995's trade in getting David Hynes , and giving up pick 3 & Phil Matera is a bit of 'an eye opener', in hindsight...

I agree, CA, we do remember all our players, the greats and those who had a go, but for whatever reason, didn't win Brownlows or club F & B's. And we (mostly) saw the good or funny, or ridiculous side of these fella's. And we enjoyed all of it.

Clinton Wolf. 4 games of unstinting duty. Probably a great lawyer and indigenous advocate.

His AFL footy was less of a career, than it was a couple of Jobkeeper payments.

Still, Clinton's four games is double that of Harley's. Don't get me wrong - go Harley - but most things are relative to something.
