At least he gets the surgery now before the xmas break, I'm not sure if he was in full training up till now but hopefully he's established a fitness base

Must be the surface of the new stadium causing it all.

Alex is a super motivated and talented footballer. I don't mind the extra time and caution they're putting into his rehab - I would rather have him out there long term than quickly. He can take some extra time and practice some kicking on his good foot/leg.

No one seems to question whether the diagnoses and surgeries performed by the wise doctors from the East are correct. Some of the blame must be attributed to them.

It does not seem to be advertised how the diagnostic process works at the Fremantle dockers.
Ken Withers, I think, was the inaugural club doctor, and I assume was the guy who would have been responsible for referrals. Being a West Australian, I assume his network was with local specialists. More recently, a Queenslander, Peter Steele is listed as the Senior Medical Officer at FFC. I am not sure how long he has been in WA for, but his CV includes the Kookaburras. I am guessing his network of specialists includes some eastern States based expertise. I don't think this is a WA v eastern seaboard discussion but rather a predictable outcome from the appointment choices made.

Seems like you'd want to start making local connections at some point. If nothing else, flying people to Melbourne for "minor procedures" is a waste of money.

I agree entirely Shane. The interesting one for me was that our Queensland trained Sports Medicine Specialist did not refer Harley Bennell to the Orthopaedic surgeon in Queensland for the surgery he recently had done.

Yeah, and if he was the top guy for the Kookaburras you would think he would've put his hand up to stitch Kev's scone back on at the Parkerville pub.

I felt like Chris Bond put a focus on Victoria over WA during his time as football manager. In everything from recruiting to medical.

It may get just take a while to unpick all that, particularly when Peter Bell came in without much experience and, looking at the membership figures, the CEO was a dead man walking.

This may or not be true Polly, but I'm saying that by the time Dr Steele arrived someone had already attempted to sew an Eagles head onto Kevin. When that didn't work, they used drugs. Not even the esteemed Dr Steele could retrieve the situation.
