A perfect example of the could have, should have drafted principle could be Jack Cooley of Claremont today, 33 disposals and BOG in a big game. He wasn't in the U18s squad, not invited to the draft combine and more than likely not on any club's list of potential draftees yet this game brings him to the attention of scouts. I know nothing of the kid outside of today's game but one of these scouts may like what they saw today and take a punt on him. I wouldn't suggest drafting him purely on todays game but he would join the list of those players we potentially missed in the draft. It's not an exact science and we can't pick everyone from the local comp.
