My theory was that the longevity of the stickers are linked to the teams hopes.
They usually start to fade then de-laminate around game 6.
Although 2013's lasted well into December.

Felt so much better after the survey. Seems we all had a similar theme.
Poor people who have to read them.

I had two suggestions.

They cut the price of my membership tickets and that they ask the handsome president to stop walking the boundary and distracting all the ladies.

I kept it simple:

* Full strength grog, unmixed spirits.
* Lifetime ban on any racial abuse.
* Cheaper memberships, more economical walkups.
* Stop the Gold Coast after goal sound bite.
* Full use of the sound/lighting systems - quit treating a $2billion stadium like a WAFL social club.
* Celebrate umpire abuse more with weekly best of video clips from the home games.

Wait, you want cheap membership and cheap grog but you don't want it being like a WAFL social club? No wonder we end up with Queen.

The 25th Anniversary Coupon was the only a real positive forward thinking addition to this season and ended the season on a high.

I've suggested an on-the-spot fine and eviction for any flog that wears an Eagles jumper to any of our non-Derby home games.

They are a joke at our home Derby games specially when they are winning by a good margin and feel it's safe to put their scarf on and stand up and look around to see the misery on our faces while foaming at the mouth yelling " I AM KING OF THE MOUNTAIN!"
I remember our first home Derby which we lost and before the siren went several MEN stood at the top of the aisle wearing eagle jumpers giving it to us when we tried to get pass. SAD.
My son who was 5 years old at the time still recalls that hostile moment and still brings it up today.

I thought being on the cheap membership option, international digital, might get me a freebie for next year, but I think it will be cancelled out by my comments.

Not buying into all of that. FFC have ran their own media and social media stuff for a few years now.

ABC journo seems to have no grasp of the media landscape in WA. FFC do the same amount of TV media (and school visits) as WC. WC don't do it 'better', they are practically the footy division of 7 West Media. They are also successful, which ensures the status quo of favoured team is retained.

So, yes, Freo need to win, and do it a lot.

Engage the fans, reap the rewards is the first message, Drubbing, and something that the steves and Lyon did not understand. As far as the media goes, the article is right in it's summation;

They also do not have a local rival like Fremantle does, and when it comes to the AFL landscape in Perth in recent times, West Coast has been the footy club that is far more accessible to the media. It has not come for the Eagles at the cost of success, and the increased exposure has helped the membership of WA's original AFL club grow to unprecedented levels.
Appointing a coach and CEO that understand this is important for the Dockers.
And of course, winning will help Fremantle's cause as well.
But if the club is to become the powerhouse the board thinks it can, that is just one piece of the puzzle.

I don't think that the eagles are far more accessable to the media, but they do have exclusive rights to the CH7 conglomerate when it comes to being looked after. That helps drown out any message Freo are trying to get across through other channels, & I would be willing to bet a JFS that the Eastern States pundits see far more of the 7 West media from Perth than they do of CH's 9, 10 and the ABC. That seems to be the base of their opinions of how things are going in WA anyway.

The biggest takeaway though, is the "engage the kids" idea. Get them and you get some parents, who may have not ever really followed a AFL team, and maybe convert some other parents who want their kids to be happy. Get the ball rolling. And the first step to that is to be playing an attractive game style. Winning is not everything, it is the end result of doing things right.

Fremantle have bunkered down and made themselves a small target, because Rosich was affraid of ridicule. All it has resulted in is us being a small club that no one talks about.

This is how irrelevant Fremantle have become, the AFL lit the All Australian Awards up in purple. It didn't even occur to anyone that a purple decor would make it look like it was Fremantle branding.

You can run all the in house stuff you like, and control the message and feel safe, but it means you're only talking to yourself and you're invisible to the outside world.

Or, Shane, Belly rang Gil and said "Geez Gil, have you noticed how popular purple is this year, what with that Purple People Eater song & all that, I reckon you fellas should go with a purple theme for the AA team announcement shindig this year".
Just part Belly having a word to Pav's mate Andy Vlahov,on what works for him, and of taking notice of what the pundits in the neutral media think.

Why would Bell ring someone. He can just use his telepathic powers to get inside their head. He could do it while going for his morning jog on the Swan.
