Ok I know what you are thinking...but we got there a year later after Lloyd stuffed it up..
But Kelly has agreed to terms to come to Freo as part of the B Hill deal.
We may need to cough up a little bit more too.

I and a few others on the site would love to go to the draft but apparently the feedback the club is getting from prospective coaches is our list is pretty average and looking even bleaker with Langdon and Hill gone out of the midfield.

So, who can get used to Kelly hitting Hogan on the chest straight out of the middle??

Agree our list is pretty average and ross did a good job with what we had. But I also believe our recruiting was done to fit into r Lyons game plan thereby recruiting so many try hard players with attitude. Ie lachie Schultz epitomises the recruiting - gives his all but could not kick a goal to save his life. The same applies to Switza - gotta love him but gee can’t make the distance from 30m out.
Please recruit talent it helps in some many ways and not solely attitude. Surely we can develop effort but god given talent is so hard to develop ie Rioli and Ryan at the eagles. Lazy apparently but gee when they develop the effort talent really shone thru.

I understand he's from Sth of the River, so why on earth would he want to go play for the slime?
Surely there's more than finals success in mind?

...and I'll add - not that "Brewed by Tooheys in NSW under license..." stuff (which is basically bottom of the barrel Tooheys Old) but cooked, tanked, sealed and airfreighted outta St. James' Gate, Dublin on Aer Lingus.

Can you refresh my memory Demo1?

last year did you say the was NO way Hogan was coming to Freo, based on your inside info?

Which is were the keg of Guinness Poly is referring to came from?

Some of us struggle to keep up.

Demo said Hogan would be at Freo in 2018, but was obviously a year out as he got there 2019.

It was The TruthProject that said no way Hoges was coming to Freo, put a keg of Guinness on it then quietly went back to Eagles Flying High without stumping up.

Demo also put a self imposed year suspension on this site if his information was wrong, which he was and served.

Ok, I might be raining on someone's parade here but is getting Kelly the best way to go?

If we were topping up for a tilt at the flag, I'd say yes, absolutely. But we are not close enough to a flag tilt to consider topping up.

The new coach, whoever that is, will be facing a fairly monumental task of rejigging the side to fit in with the modern game. Our skills are not going to be fixed up over one preseason. I would expect improvement and substantial improvement by the end of next season but it will be 2021 before even the best coach could lift our skills enough to compete with the better sides.

Are we better off not investing in Kelly (who won't come cheap) and instead taking to the draft with gusto and having longer term players for when we are ready to have a flag tilt? I don't know that there is a 'right' answer to this but I'd be interested in the whys and why nots that others think should apply
