I think the general perception held around the game was that he always had a very ordinary list because they didn't bottom out and get the high draft picks required for a rebuild. The fact that he continually got this very ordinary list into finals contention regularly was then seen as indicative of his ability. Their recruiters then tried topping up by trading in experienced players from other clubs like Marley Williams, Jared Polec an Aaron Hall but the results got worse. The rest is history.
And I'd still get JLo.

Internally, they should take lessons from the women's team who did so well this year.
AFLW coach Trent Cooper changed the game style from Rolyball-scrum back to football, with instant success. ass. coach material after another year in the AFLW gig.

Kiara Bowers as tackling coach.

I’ve enjoyed listening to dale Alcock lately now that he is putting himself out there. Mostly focusing on the number of times he has talked about cultural fit and cultural knowledge in the new coach. He is staying off the selection panels but I reckon he is making it very clear that we want Fremantle back in Fremantle, and certainly someone who understands footy in this state. I will be very surprised if the new coach doesn’t have a strong connection with freo and or wa footy. It won’t be Brad Scott. Longmuir and Summa have to be frontrunners with worsfold as a Smokey.

After having had Lyon, Brad Scott wouldn’t be a good choice. The media here would eat him up.

They'd all have to put their sausage rolls down first. Which is unlikely.

Well, I think David Hale has moved Brad Scott one spot higher in the preferred coaches ladder

What was he likely to change in 3 days? I don't think he was ever in the preferred coach category.

David Hale had his one and possibly only chance to smash that phone hand set, like Bucks, Brad Scott and many others before him had tried but failed, over the years.
Missed the opportunity to go down in Urban Dictionary legend as not only the tallest but most successful coach at smashing the phone.

He could have made himself the most innovative coach in history by using a cordless phone.

FWIW,

1. Choco - doing great things for Werribee in the VFL. Brings arrogance and The Crazy. Please. (might also bring back Barlow from Werribee)

2. Vossy - as the great Leigh Matthews says he has "got a big black hole within him that no amount of pain or killing will fill".

3. Stewie Dew - Everything about him shouts Freo.

4. J-Lo - will probably get the gig
