loss to bottom of the ladder side and look at the stats , so called afl players cant even get ten kicks against part timers
the club in total is in a crisis but come draft time lets get a few more skinny victorians
five yr rebuild or restump, i dont think it has even started
president, rosnich and lyon need to be held accountable,my biggest concern is what happens once nat and sonny finish in say 4 or 5 yrs time
This review is only based on half a game as I left early to watch the main game...
One word - disappointed
I watch SD regularly so I am fully aware of their massive deficiencies.
It started with the warmup. Only Banfield took it seriously, so much so that he ran along the boundary for much of the last qtr of the ressies.
In drills, basic lane kicking resulted in many targets being missed over 20 Metres..
The Whole pre game was lacklustre at best. To me it looked like Freo had forgotten about Peel.
The game started it was cold and windy.
Banfield was in everything and Colyer ran hard.
Jones is a log, constantly asked by team mates for more. Dixon shows glimpses but is so far off AFL fitness its not funny. He Did kick a great goal into the breeze from 50.
North was in and under and I liked what I saw.
Very disappointed in Sturt - is really still a raw kid. I must say for a first round pick I see deficiencies in his physical make up especially his legs.
A long way to go.
Bewleys disposal was terrible as was his decision making and effort all round.
Didn’t notice Nyhuis.
Tobe Watson is a real goer and attacks the ball hard..
Quarter time huddle was interesting.
Alex Pearce appeared from the coaches box and spoke to the defenders.
He has a aura about him and was instantly admired by the group.
He is a real leader and every word had an effect. Jones copped a spray for not getting back onto the goal line enough.
So in the end Banfield Dixon Watson and North are keepers.
When SD are more desperate than you and out run you it’s a big worry.
We are in massive trouble and there is nothing in the sheds.
Good summary Demo1, iam with you as i have seen a lot of Peel and the worry is Sturt is not showing any improvement (so much for our development coaches)
He does not appear to be a first round pick and fear it could end up a wasted opportunity
Also Valente when he did play struggled but he was not fit so maybe still hope there
North trys hard but in reality lacks leg speed and kicking skills
Dixon could make it but plays half heartedly most ot the time
Jones is not AFL standard
Tobe Watson could develop into a handy player as he gives effort
All in all we are in dire straits with young upcoming players, another reflection on some pathetic recruiting decisions over at least the past 5 yrs
Worry is that the guy now in charge Walls is still calling the shots
It's obvious we need to look for some ruck backup and the next English in the WAFL would be a good start. Jones is of no value at all. I think Meeks might become a useful servant when Darcy and Lobb are unavailable but we really need better.
What about Colyer?? Couldn't really see why we picked him up except didn't cost much and was supposedly a good mate of our captain Nat.
Noticed him having a laugh with Essendon mates after the game last night. Maybe wants to go back?
