No way someone would actually type all that out.

Despite several lines in this 'dribble' being of serious concern, it is perhaps the last one that defines Ross - defines the club - and says all that need to be said about the complete ineptitude of our coach.

We have no tall forwards they are all buggered. We proved to ourselves last year that Cammac is not a primary target in the forward line, and despite hitting him lace out on a few occasions last night, he has absolutely no confidence in getting the job done.

The one skill that he excels in - long, straight kicking - was missing last night, and he as a 67 game player did not take the opportunities he should have been taking.

Yet despite all this - and despite the season being lost - RoLy cannot see that having a look a Dixon, or why giving the bloke a confidence boosting couple of games, or a 'look at what standard he has to get to' , is only rated as "yeh ....he may get a game"..

What would it have hurt for him to make an alternative statement, and, didnt we give him alook this week, when all we did was bomb it into a forward line full of smurfs....???

The problem with journalists is they're dumb and they are terrified of being found out. So Ross can get away with just talking nonsense at them.

One day one of them needs to ask - Inside, outside, centre pineapples stoppage arc pattern? What do you mean by that, Ross?

It was so stupid - that bit about "last week we had 5 entries and Carlisle marked it 4 times. This week Hurley did the same." You would've thought someone should've asked "well, why did Freo do the same thing Ross?".

We were ill prepared and out coached - one of the 5 W's of journalism is 'why', no point avoiding such a simple question.

I am not completely computer illiterate, Polly. I do know how to copy & paste a sentence at a time.

Walters in the backline, It's been happening for the last 5-6 weeks regularly. I know he wants to be in the game, but if I was coaching I would have him plonked back at centre half forward and give the other teams something to think about. Leave Darcy or Mundy resting at full forward. I know it's not how the game is played these days, but if you know that your forward line can't cut it, at least with a 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 we're a better chance to score than the 8% efficiency last night.

Insanity is trying the same thing time and time again and expecting a different outcome.

Raglan I was wondering how you'd done that, I thought it was through endless patience and playbacks,

Capt'n, even I don't drink enough to be able to listen to a Lyon press conference, reading the transcript is hard enough.

Someone, somewhere, make it stop. The disingenuous droning of the coach. He was never a fit for Fremantle and it's worse now. Sides like the Tigers, the Bulldogs, and goddamit, West Coast have about 3 extra gears when compared to us. Any improvement is either imaginary or incremental, and certainly irrelevant- there will still be more than half of the other sides that are better than us next year. We are torching players careers and supporters remaining lifespans with meaningless football.

As a side note, imagine being a Brisbane supporter. You only had to watch their football last year, when they won only 5 games, finishing 15th, one position below us on the ladder, to know they were going places. I have seen one game like that for us in 2019, against GWS, but that win looks a bit pallid in the context of the season now. We're going nowhere with this direction. I'm over it. You could scream until you were blue in the face, but Lyon (and Steve, and perhaps Peter for that matter) would neither know nor care. He is the ultimate self-serving apologist-to-no-one. But he is wrong.

That's painful reading. I stopped very early.

Even more painful being a journalist and listening to it. They ask one question and he drones on till boredom sets in on both sides.

Sports journos are too lazy. They stick a mic in front of him and let it do 99% of the work. There is so much potential material to get by asking him tough questions, and putting him on the spot, unravel some of this BS he talks. No one has ever done it since 'great work Shane'.

Are they really that afraid of a cornered coach with a crazy stare?

No one wants to be on the end of a "You're quite brilliant Shane"

If Shane had asked him again to answer the question, and again and again, and again and again and again and again and again, Lyon might have realized what his game plan is doing to us.
