At his best Cam is a natural forward, however, he has been far from his best for most of the season. While BB may not be a natural forward he is a ball magnet, creates pressure and is a good mark. Most importantly he is consistent, which Cam isn’t. Worth a swap I think.

Watched what Cam was doing last night when the ball was down my end. It's hard to be consistent when you are making leads into space and your team mates don't kick it to you.

Are both players cobblers? I mean great effort from both and my shoes do look a treat however I do wonder about the rationale of replacing a proven forward with an unproven mid.

Cammac is a natural forward playing in an unnatural forward line, what hope does he have??? Banfield into the middle for Matera, and Fyfe forward to replace Lobb.

I am yet to see this natural forward everybody speaks of. When I have watched, I have seen somebody playing forward that has the worst timing of any footballer I have ever seen.
It baffles me why people will argue on the one hand to stop excusing and justifying repeat poor performance from the coach, and in the next breath explain away McCarthy’s lack of form.
Since joining us he has averaged 11 disposals and 1.1 goals a game. Kersten was tracking better than this and people wanted him lynched.
He didn’t manage to increase his output even at WAFL level.
I am glad he has another year on his contract and want him to show what he was showing at GWS.
He needs to go to Peel and bust some games apart, and Banfield has been doing this. Surely with Fyfe coming back in sore, more support through the midfield would allow Fyfe to spend time forward and help protect him.
Seriously can anybody really say we would miss his current output, it’s not like the 2 tackles a game even add much to our forward pressure.

DBTS, some of us believe the performance of the coach relates directly to the performance of Cammac, so feel justified in our support of Cammac.

It doesn't matter who we play forward they are going to look poor for as long as we play this style of gameplan. The only forwards that have managed to look half decent are either big athletic guys that lead up to the wing to get a possession (hogan and taberner) or small crumbers who feed off the scraps of balls bombed into our forward line - strangely enough the same kind of players that benefitted at st Kilda (reiwoldt and milne). If you look at where hogan and taberner were getting their possesions this year most of those are between the 50m arcs ... not much point having key forwards if they spend all their time in the midfield.

If you watch McCarthy play he works best when he isn't the main key forward which he is somewhat forced to be with our injuries. He isn't lightning quick or agile and isn't a contested marking type he a Gunston type that finds space and runs onto the footy when kicked out in front. He does possess great field kicking skills and goal accuracy (watch his set shots for goal and he's a very good kick). He's not suited to Rolyball and you can see he is down on confidence, What forward wouldn't be in this style and system of game plan. We could have Josh Kennedy from up the road line up for us and he wouldn't produce better numbers as the game style is completely unsuited to being a forward.

Thank god for Patient Docker, I thought I had stumbled onto the transcript of Lyon's press conference.

PD, is it a coincidence that the 2 key forwards who have to run to the half back line and back 100 times a game are both out with foot injuries?
