I have no interest in adding to the doom and gloom around here and would much rather look at some of the talent that may arrive at the club next year. I've given my thoughts on games across the championships on various players but haven't really given a proper write up of Elijah Taylor who was featured in this article on the AFl site today.

He seemed to be everyone's pick as the bolter across the championships who has that X-factor and incredibly high ceiling with eye catching play throughout. His side step and pace made him difficult to lay a finger on when he had the ball although he didn't get it a heap across the championships.

He roamed half forward and looked dangerous even without the ball. He only averaged 12 touches a game but kicked 6 goals in 4 matches to earn himself an AA jersey. He has plenty of talent and ability which are likely to see him given a chance in that 15-30 range on draft day.

As per the article linked above, Dale Kickett is a relative of his and they are not dissimilar in style of play although I'd probably compare him to another former Docker in Stephen Koops. He's a good size but not quite a key position player. However that doesn't stop him from flying for big marks while being first to his feet and just as dangerous at ground level.

We'd be lucky to have him on the list.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Would you spend a first round pick or early second rounder on Stephen Koops? I wouldnt..
Great highlight package but the best thing about Koopsy is we got David Mundy for him.

While I did watch the derby from a corporate box in the dry, I did not partake in the champagne. The full strength beer went down far too easily and helped me erase most of what I witnessed.

I personally would as Koops was always one of my favourite players and the most exciting to watch. I do however have other favourites ahead of Taylor in the draft and would have hoped he's available around the 40-50 mark (but I doubt that after the potential shown this past month).

Another player you could compare him to is Nat Fyfe, another mercurial half forward with a big leap and some power. Would you take Fyfe in the 15-30 range?
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

A lot of good judges thought he should be thereabouts or lower.

My son played footy with him in junior football for Thornlie , he was always the star at making others look second rate.

Footy was just easy for him, He'll be an amazing player for whoever takes him.

Okay Biz let's think about the talent that might come to us at the next trade and draft period. We like to bring talented Western Australian boys home so let's say

Pick 5 and a wantaway player like Ed Langdon for Tim Kelly.
or
Pick 25 and a wantaway player like Bradley Hill for Jaeger Omeara

We are always on the lookout for Key Position Forwards, it's the same every trade period so why should this one be any different. Hmmm, let's target Aaron Naughton I suppose. We should be able to break him pretty quickly.

I've seen Swamp people Tackle Alligators, and catch catfish by sticking their hands down the fishes throats and grabbing the giblets. I recon they'd be handy skills for a Derby game, tagging role maybe?

Nope I accidently stumbled across what I thought was an Eagles fan signing or something when I got lost and ended up pleasantly surprised in Thornlie while trying to avoid stopping in Armadale. Last Time I try and find our elite training centre to get a kiddies jumper signed I can tell you!!

Geelong will want something more than that for Kelly. Leading the votes in the coaches awards and Brownlow favourite
Besides if he came to Freo he would never be as good once he was Rolyed.
