TOPIC: I’m done

I agree Shane ..we were just stupid and completely under prepared, hopeless, unskillled in the wet forward, centre ,back.
At one stage in the second quarter I got the courage to look up to see West Coast doing circle work training drill and we were chasing to tag.
But the one thing which we lack is a player called Jack who's in the ump's ear pleading for a free kick and gets a couple.
Darling covered more ground walking along with the ump complaining about not getting a free kick for his the logie performance.

Hey Mercury. That picture with the paper bags brings back memories. In 2001 (probably around round 16 or so) (against Richmond) we took paper bags to the game (with sad faces drawn on them) and put them on when it was certain we were going to lose (again!). We walked around the stadium (to mixed reactions) and wore them all the way back to Freo on the train. If I knew how to post a picture, I would...but I don't
18 years later and nothing has changed. We're still an embarrasment and we still go to all the games. This is the first time in 21 years I've considered not renewing my membership

vicmont, I know how you feel.

Every year the costs of our memberships went up and up and up. When it reached 1200 for 2 seats and what we got was dull football and regular big losses and when the club was refusing to support the players by pleading guilty at every opportunity to anything the MRP/MRO put up, we started to have thoughts about not renewing.

I contacted the club to air my misgivings and was basically given a so what, who cares response. As they said, it didn't matter if I didn't renew as they would sell our seats to somebody else.

The attitude of the club towards its members and supporters, that was once something amazing, is now one of utter contempt. You only need to look at the club's reaction to various off field incidents and Bell's response last night to be assured of that.

That phone call decided me....we didn't renew and won't while the club is conducting itself like it is. Others may take a different view.

Yeh Yeti I remember the old days when members meant something too. We were paying premium but weren't even under cover and I'd seen seats available that were so wrote to club. Next day had phone call from CEO (can't remember name but the hockey bloke) who said had changed our seating and new memberships were available to be picked up at next game. Granted we didn't have lots of members back then but still it made me feel a part of it all, certainly don't today.

I recall when after the game the coach would address members in a function room with a few players present and mingling, it gave the feel of a club. Those days are long gone.
im an inaugural member one year we had a dinner, paid $100 good dinner lots of players, coach etc made you feel special, next year it was a breakfast, still good if a little early, less players this time as in recovery. Then the third year it was a afternoon tea, I didn't attend and was told due to lack of interest they wouldn't do anymore. The members board member positions were hijacked by former players years ago.We are just taken for granted, in fact I think if you arent a corporate you are seen as a nuisance..

I remember when our CEO would stand in the queue at Subway for a sandwich - no problem with sharing a conversation, nor did he want to jump to the front and get out of there quickly. He liked where he was and loved those that loved his football team. He was a Freo type fella that enjoyed every minute of being one.

I remember a day after a derby waving my wooden spoon around at every Canary supporter I could see.

Sigh, the good ole days

Just expanding on this topic.

I can deal with the 15 goal losses to our hated rival in the wet but if New Zealand win the world cup.

I'm done.

If New Zealand win the world cup, cricket is done.

Luckily, regardless of the result tomorrow, they'll be up against massive cheats.

Raglan Matt
If Shane allows another Macklemore clip on D/L without the appropriate warnings etc, I'm done.

Quasi the post-game address from the coach was binned because a few knuckleheads full of sauce saw it as their opportunity to dish out a few tips to the coach after a loss.

The Freo admin have made a fair few blues but cancelling that post-game address needs to be owned by others.

And presumably the knuckleheads full of sauce were corporate knuckleheads full of sauce so they couldn't remove said knuckleheads full of sauce nor stop serving them said sauce.
