I think Roly will try to strangle the life out of them and then have no idea what to do when PA moves out to a 6 goal lead by half time

Port have also got big Charlie Dixon out and he's mainly being kept in the SANFL this week because of fears that his leg may suffer from playing on the OPTUS stadium turf. A big out because without Pearce I'm not sure who could have held him on Saturday.

Port have Dixon, Ebert and Wines listed as available but they probably won't be playing which is fortunate for us. Big test for Darcy coming up against Ryder.

I'm with Yeti on this one. Remember the same contest last year? I am trying to forget it but it is etched into my memory as one of the most unwatchable games of football - ever.
The score was 8.11 to 7.8 Allegedly we won but football lost.

Highlights (sort of)

There have been quite a few unwatchable games in recent years, not just involving Freo. Look at some of the scores from the last few weeks, a lot of low scores due to the current state of the AFL game tactics.

Port have their captain (Wines) out still who is trying to gain match fitness in the SANFL this week along with their best KPF (Dixon) who is doing the same. Their best runner and leading goalkicker before injury (Ebert) is still out with concussion. Their best clearance mid (Rockliff) has missed the past couple of weeks with a hammy and is no certainty to return along with their former skipper and best rebound defender (Hartlett).

They're some pretty important players Port could be missing and if you add Broadbent to that who has been one of their best mids since his return averaging a career best 22 touches and 5 marks and Watts who adds plenty to their set up forward and linking through the middle then you can see some holes in their line up. They do have a lot of kids getting a go (much more than us) and stepping up for them though such as Lienert, Duursma, Bonner, Houston, Burton, Butters, Rozee, Powell-Pepper and Farrell who are all 22 or under and played in the last game. There are another 3 (Amon, Howard and Byrne-Jones) who have just turned 23 and are becoming senior members of the side.

It just goes to show, a team can suffer injuries but if you have some good kids coming through, you can still remain competitive and not fall off a cliff.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

If Port lose the game because Watt's is not playing, I am a much worse judge of talent than I thought.

It’s up to our “leaders” to ensure that everyone is totally committed to ignoring everything that comes out of Goofy’s lips! We’re a chance if we also ignore our goal kicking coach, tackling guru and clearance specialist.
