There has been some rumours that Freo are making a play for Tim English at the Dogs. Where does this leave Sean Darcy ? Could it be that the Cats have named Darcy as the man they want in any trade for Tim Kelly. Tim English for this years first round pick and Tim Kelly for Darcy and next years first round pick.

No chance whatsoever. We need some talented kids to come through and replace/help all the aging stars we have and a draft where WA kids are likely to push up the order and be underrated outside of WA is the perfect time to strike.

The asking price for Kelly is going to be too much for a 25yo. When players are homesick and out of contract, you're supposed to get them cheap and not pay through the nose for them. We aren't on the cusp of a premiership so I don't see any reason to overpay for him. Just jack the price up for the OOFTIT's.

I'm not opposed to getting English but it'd only be if Darcy wanted out. If that's the case then it's a straight swap with Geelong probably going to have to do better than their first rd pick in a 3 way trade. I could see Darcy to Geelong, Geelong and West Coast's first or second rd picks to the Dogs and English to us. I think it'll be important to see how Darcy goes in the second half of the season though.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Surely, no one can be homesick for Geelong - unless you're just plain sick. Hodor stays, we pick up Henry and get a flag.

This is another of us overestimating the value of our player. Darcy and English is not a straight swap, there is aeons between them in skill and potential. if we want English we will need to pay the price.

Darcy is a year younger than English and a much better tap ruckman and marking player. English is better at getting around the ground and linking up play. They're a pretty even split and it would depend on what you want in a ruckman.

A team like Geelong already have a tonne of fantastic mids so there's no reason to require their ruckman to be another link in the play. They'd value a big bodied tap ruckman who will make a contest of everything and bring the ball to ground exactly like Darcy.

English had done nothing before this season anyway which is one ahead of Darcy. In any case, English would help a side that already has good contested marking targets and needs another link player around the ground rather than perfect taps to extract the ball. With Fyfe and Mundy winning first possession regardless of the tap position, I can see English being handy for us as a runner (even more so with our running game plan).

I'd rather keep Darcy and set up to utilise his strengths. he's 20 with a tonne of time to work on his fitness and movement. He'll be just as good if not better than English.

Luke Jackson is another WA kid in this year's draft who could play English's role and probably a lot better around the ground.

Not sure why, but I've never been a fan of English. I'm often wrong in these things but every time I watch a Bulldogs game he seems to impact very little.

Stick with Big Sean I say.

I thought English was very good against us at Optus this year. He is going to develop into a pretty decent player. So is Sean Darcy.

I would welcome Pickett home with open arms, Corp. Very talented with plenty of determination - Carlton tried to beef him up and turn him into a Conca type player. Stupid, glad he's out of there, at 22 he'll do well for sure.

Hopefully he pays out the rest of the season with his home club the Bulldogs (the real ones not those victorian interlopers), we would find him useful..
