I’ve only ever coached underage school teams so I can’t pretend to know the complexities of managing an AFL team. Given the focus on the head coach and the large amount of money that they get paid I can only assume that it is all consuming, however, some things appear to not be that complex.
“Getting back to basics” appears to be a common refrain whenever a team hits difficulties and it is certainly something we have been asking for over a long period of time. We have no shortage of effort but developing skills and hitting forward targets seems to be an obvious shortcoming.
Fear no more!! Our top men are on to it! Apparently this shortcoming has now been identified and we are working on it this week. That’s right, a whole week of focus. That should do the trick.
