TOPIC: Those who played well

I thought Matera was in everything and was one of the better ones below his knees.

Lobb whilst soundly beaten at bounce downs was good around the ground.

Switowski is quick and smart. And Hughes, well I thought he did great on Darling.

Hogan looked better and better as the game wore on people saying he looks disengaged. That's nerves folks. Clinical nerves.

They need to calm down a little when they play these games to be honest West Coast aren't that good a team. Looked utterly wired in the first quarter.

Thought that young Mundy chappy was a stand out.

I thought Brayshaw was in everything too, but to your point Hypen how many times did he bang into one of he own blokes? He’s so wired and focused on the ball he seems to lose sight of the bigger picture. That will come.

I thought our whole backline (except Wilson) looked great defensively, but could have taken the game on a touch more.

That would be the third week in a row that we're wondering what has happened to Wilson's form.

In recent years when the ball has been in dispute, bouncing around amidst a throng of players, I've been confident that the opposition would end up with it. But today we came away with it quite often. I'm not sure exactly who was responsible for that, but I enjoyed watching it. So well done to whoever that was.
And Tabs played really well, except for kicking it between the big sticks. Its really good to see a big player who has been a pretty slow developer finally start to hit his straps.
I reckon Alex Pearce would just love to play on Kennedy every week.

Taberner continues to provide a target and marks the ball. He usually is a good kick on goal, he had one of those games. Covers a lot of ground. In earlier years he would fade after an error, but he seems to just keep on competing and presenting now.

Taberner is a favourite of mine but geez there's goals and marks missed that he must learn to take. I think I once posted in terms of goal output he won't be far behind Hogan. I still maintain that.

And the big change I've noticed in Tabs so far this year has been he's no longer the "mark the ball, stop, look around, and do nothing until all your options are covered" sort of player. He plays on quickly now.

The elephant in the room - we're better without Fyfe and his hair problems.

Everytime I see him I like that Switzy guy.
With barely half dozen games or so, he continues to look composed, quick, smart and has as gooder awareness as any of our youngens. In ourbest 22 everyday in my book.Just needs to polish his goalkicking a bit but he's no orphan there.Hard to see Bailey B forcing him out.

Lobb as ive mentioned before, will become ,if not already, in our top 2 or 3 important players.Difficult matchup upfront way too big for most key backs, and a more than capable mobile ruck backup with plenty of stamina for a guy his size-our best pickup in off season.
I reckon we erred not playing and continue not playing 2 rucks (Darcy)particularly with weather at this time of year.
If Lobb was in fwd line tonight for 70% time I think that wouldve been the difference.

After a shaky start against Petrucelle I thought Wilson was ok. Their small forwards Ryan, Cripps and Petrucelle hardly did anything after that.

Alex Pearce did a great job after Hamling went out of the game. He’s going to be a gun player for us.

Nathan Wilson isn't playing badly. He is being targeted by opposition coaches in an attempt to shut down his rebounding ability.

About time we had a few targets of our own, we seem to be getting belted around the head and guts and kneed while playing mother Theresa style. Amen
