It gets more interesting

Marquee recruit Jesse Hogan will sit out the clash with North Melbourne and there is no timeframe on his return

m.afl.com.au/news/2019-03-18/hogan-ruled...ith-clinical-anxiety

Jesse continues to train very hard on the training track and he will continue to train with the team, but his clinical anxiety can lead to him making poor decisions around alcohol consumption and, therefore, impact his health and wellbeing.

"Jesse made poor choices around alcohol consumption on Saturday evening prior to our training run at Optus Stadium on Sunday and as a result he did not take part in training.

Two things:

Firstly, can a season be in crisis before the season commences, and

I hope they cleared the publication of Hogan's issues with him before telling the world.

Agreed. Dookers could have just left it as an alcohol infringement. But went the whole hog, which to me flags a drama.

This club exists in a state of semi permanent crisis. When you think it can’t get any worse it somehow manages to. I am out of answers as a fan. I know so many people who have just drifted away from footy altogether following this club.

Another season over already.

It probably flags he did something that the paper are going to run big tomorrow morning because the editor thought of a pun he thinks is hilarious.

Yep, if he had anxiety already this will just make it worse I'd imagine.

I suppose they have to sit him out this week but I'd be worried that might just make matters worse, I wish we could just let him play, if he wants too that is.

For those of you who are interested I went out to the Oxford Hotel on Saturday night and made some poor choices pertaining to alcohol.

After my sixth pint of 150 lashes I went to the red wine. Now that is poor choices.

Whose decision was it that he should not train? Did he turn up ready to train? Tell us what actually happened on Sunday morning before training, don't tell us what the end result was, we already know that. As AP said, dropping him from the team is possibly not the best choice to make. Put him out there and let his actions speak for themselves against North. Fair enough if he turned up for training off his trolly on the booze, but if that was the case, say so. Don't hide behind the wall of "we won't question that, it wont be good for his well being" . The Freo supporters have been fed a litany of half truths and excuses for the last 5 or 6 years, and it is about time some straightshooter stood up to lead the club forward, not sideways behind a raft of cover-ups and deceptions.
