Of all the lies, lilygilding and general misrepresentations, the one that really burns my buns is this:

"...the club's squad was restricted to 17 fewer players than other sides"

It might have been worth pointing out that VFL clubs had to field a reserve side and the Weavils didn't but facts can get in the way of good story.

It mentions this in the latest Docker mag, how we got 7 uncontracted players from clubs, and those clubs got picks 1 to 7 in the draft in return.

Imagine if today you could say "Well Shane Kersten's out of contract, so he can bugger off back to Geebung and we'll have pick 3 in the next draft please."
