Ross Lyon's destiny will be defined in the first three weeks of the season (2019 that is). We play three teams at about our standard or below. After that depending on results, particularly of the home games (2), it will be 'just a matter of time' as to whether he stays or is paid out (namely sacked).

I think the bloke is delusional. He came in 2012 got us to finals after we ran out of gas under Harvey. We then got to the big dance in 13, did well in 2014 but lost in the finals, were going great guns for the early to mid part of 15 before we ran out of gas again and then the rot really set in with 16 4 wins, 17 8 wins and 8 wins in 18. if that is coaching better than ever I think he needs to look in the mirror more often.

i haven't seen our 2 games this preseason but from what I have read it seems we may have gone backwards from last year even with the recruitment we have undertaken.
Usually this time of the year I am full of hope and promise, Im dreading this season I think we are in for a world of pain.
Problem is we dont have a plan B, Port are in a similar state but brought in Schofield as a plan B. We havent dpone that.

Personally I thin Ross is past it his game plan is past it and his relationship with player s is past it. We need new blood and someone who has a modern game plan and can relate to blokes born at the turn of the millennium and inspire them. Ross to me looks like the slightly scary uncle you avoid at family BBQs.

Ross unfortunately Footy is a tough gig.
You're fired.
Now lets have a chat to the fitness folks, and the cling on folks, and the other people in marketing, and the people thinking that the business model is about confusing the masses.
25 years not a trophy in the cabinet. Up the road, well cross out a couple for obvious reasons, but there is a couple that are not as tainted siting there, or last years at least if you want to argue. We have nothing but excuses,, weirdly have a look at St Kilda, Hmmmm. Loss likes these sorts of excuse friendly cultures I'd like to think that that there is some good cattle coming out of over pastures, maybe it's time to change the DNA in the shed.
Him coming out saying I'm not getting Sacked, well FNKL, I hope Belly has a Lyon in the sand somewhere and calls out the :King: has no clothes on

I must say those of you who think Lyon is a man under pressure right now honestly haven't been paying attention.

He's the safest coach in the AFL and when we are 7 and 12 he'll still be the safest coach in the AFL.

“Safest”: cautiously, conservatively, guarded, not dangerous, protected.

A coach that isn’t feeling the pressure won’t take face the challenges, won’t innovate or take chances. He’ll keep on following the formula he believes is working well. Regardless.

Reading that article sounded like an interview with a cult leader. He talks himself up, spouting a bunch of rubbish that the believers will gobble up while everyone else looks at him like a crazy mad man.

He dispels all criticism of himself and his teachings as without basis and not something he spends any time on or acknowledges, it's just people trying to bring him down. His stopping Phar Lap line was just self righteous bull&*^% that had me cringing and hoping someone would stand up to this guy and his ridiculous comments.

You can see how insular and separated from reality he and the people running the club are, all protecting each other and fooling themselves into believing the same thing.

It's going to hurt us all as it comes crashing down.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Speaking of cults, if you have Netlfix and you haven't watched Wild, Wild Country, then you should.

It’s also a very dismissive thing to suggest- that it’s only a matter of time before a flag falls in our lap. Do they say the same thing at st.kilda season launches? I am yet to see any evidence at all that the club has the right processes in place to get us to a flag, not least with what happens on the field most weekends.

Yeah great documentary Shane and a great soundtrack.
