Think Walter summed it up pretty well, the game needs time to develop. I will defend Jeb a little in that I have tried to get through 3 games and the most I have managed is 2 1/2 quarters as it is hard going. I think this will improve quickly even over the course of this short season. i also found this with 20 20 cricket initially as the first 4 or 5 games I tried to watch were over within a handful of overs.
I wish the game well and it is true that it has to start somewhere. Being a father I have watched a lot of junior games and there have been a few young girls that have been reasonable players, that I imagine must stop playing at certain age, I feel for them and hope they now have an avenue to continue. I am from a regional area, and from what I can see there are nowhere near the numbers that any sort of competition could be formed. I am sure that the AFLW will help in this area and this could very well change quickly with the level of publicity and hype generated.
I personally find Netball a very enjoyable game to watch at the highest level, and would like this developed so that more people took the time to watch women compete at the elite level. The game is highly skilled fast and exciting. So for mine I will continue to watch netball when I get the chance, and observe the AFLW from afar until it becomes more enjoyable to watch as a game of Footy.
