Only because no-one has beaten me to it...here

Is he worth a speculative look or leave him to his 'preferred' destination?? I.e. A Melbourne-based club.

I remember the hype on here when he was first up for grabs as a 17 year old before GC snaffled him off GWS using some of their multiple first round draft picks as a lure.

Admittedly, he hasn't done anything since snapping his patella tendon last year but the talent is undeniable.

Could be an option for us if he does end up in the draft as GC have threatened *?

* - assuming we don't trade that draft pick for one of our other trade targets

I hope so badly GC send him through to the pre season draft as I can't see anyone throwing in players worth Jaeger after his injury issues. With any luck the Bombers are close to their salary cap given the likes of Hurley and co resigning after they were all free agents and we can capitalise on a few of our players leaving including big earners like Pav to enjoy some space.

Ideally we don't give up any picks/players and just have to meet his contract terms. I'd back Jaeger to be an absolute gun if he gets back on the field and well worth a big contract.

O'Meara was one of the U16 boys who toured Freo prior to his drafting. He's now 22, and have missed 2 years of football. Mora, who's missed close on 4 years of footy is surely delisted at season's end. I'm punting in the fact that when we last culled a dozen or so players in 2008, we've climbed to the top in 4-5 years. While I don't think it'll take near as long, Freo will be using their draft picks to re-launched. The only trade I expect to see is the Cammac trade.

I'm thinking they'll re-sign Mora - call it intuition (if you like).

From memory, what made Jaeger special was his footy smarts and the willingness of his body to move with those smarts. Like Ablett, like Mikey - Ablett had to beef-up, Mikey can't (without turning into a potato) - but Jaeger can (as Fyfe did).

Jeager O'Meara is a gun. But we would be too gutless to claim him in pre-season after he has nominated a preference for Melbourne even if he got to us - as evidenced by Tippett previously.

Essendon will have plenty of room in their cap. They'd be mad to let a kid like O'Meara pass by. Those banned players didn't miss a year of footy and then stay on to be part of an uncompetitive team. There will be deals done and damages claims settled and watch the Bombers fly deep into the finals over the next 2 years.

The only thing holding them back that I can see is the pharmacist, but he can be dumped pretty quickly.
