I think that the new players in the club and particularly Bennell are part of the reason Freo will be more attacking. The coaching is simply adapting to the team it has before it. Our backline may be down a bit until it settles but for other teams getting the ball in the centre is going to be bloody difficult. Also I think our field kicking will improve its accuracy and Yarran - once fit - has excellent timing on the lead which will take pressure off our usual forwards and Harvey Benell adds speed and power and accuracy.

In all the pre-season interviews with Ross, there is a tacit acknowledgement regarding the Hawks that 'if you can't beat them, join them.' We tried in '13, Sydney in '14, and the Weagles in '15. My fear is that the Hawks themselves will adapt their game plan to stay one step ahead...
