"SHARKS’ fans face sunburn after the local town council pulled down three shelters at the East Fremantle football stadium — with no plans to replace them.

The rickety north, south and north-east shelters were deemed unsafe so the council spent up to $80,000 of ratepayers’ hard-earned removing them in the off-season."

Personally I would have pulled down the Merv Cowan members stand whilst they were at it.

Won't be no shadows cast when they keep ripping structures down. Admittedly does not help when the Red and White come every Derby and rip down the forward, back and midfield structures apart also but that's a separate issue.

Also struck by the line in the article "The council also removed an old toilet block." Tell me that's not the only one in the joint?

Also as Claremont fan, I'm assuming this is phase 1 of some sort of redevelopment that will bring the East Freo community and football club together, creating commercial opportunities and cementing the Sharks presence at East Freo Oval for the next century.
