Or does Sandi do the ruck work and Tabener comes in?

Sydney only use Pyke in the ruck don't they?

I was thinking that too, surely Sandi can bear the ruck load by himself, coz Clarke definitely doesn't deserve a game after his performance on Saturday...unless he was told specifically by Roly not to extend himself and risk injury, with the club fully aware of Griff's injury...

As I recall it Sandi pretty much single-handedly ensured that the 2013 preliminary final against Sydney was over at half-time. I expect something similar to happen this weekend. A second ruckman will be superfluous.

Griffin has been a solid contributor over the past few weeks. He's a good shot on goal and dangerous overhead especially in our forward 50.
I heard RL mention Griff being rested for hamstring soreness but whether he misses the QF is uncertain.
Hope it's just a precautionary measure.

Against the Swans I would think an Alex Pearce would be adequate insurance for Sandi and we get a much better performed forward/back option thrown in. That way you could play Tabs as well. The 2 of them could ruck in the forward half when needed and occasionally in the centre. The back half could be covered by Zac and a 3rd up.

2nd half of the season Tippet has done as much ruckwork as Pyke. Part of that is because Pyke has been out with injury, but even when Pyke has returned Tippet's hit out numbers have been equal / higher.

I think we've looked after Sandilands a bit over the last part of the season. Against Carlton, St Kilda and GWS especially, Griffin has had more ground time (not sure what the split is with ruckwork, but Griffin about 10% more time on ground than Sandilands), and with the rest against Port, its probably primed for Sandilands to ruck 90% or more against Sydney.
