A good idea I say, on the presumption that we make the GF too!
I want them to make the GF for the following reasons:
1. The likelihood that the Dockers will meet the Eagles in a GF is small, around 1 in 200 each year. This assumes each team has an equal chance of making the GF. Regardless of this assumption, the odds are not high.
2. I want to see this before I spring off this mortal coil.
3. I am prepared to risk the appalling experience of losing the granny to the WCE to have the opportunity to win and therein rewrite history in our favour!

I'm adopting an anyone but Hawthorn stance this year, even if ti means the Eagles (did I just say that?)!

We will beat Wet Toast if we play them in Perth or Melbourne, Hawthorn I am not so sure

I like the idea, largely because of how the AFL will have to grin and bear it.

On the other hand, if they bow out, flights and accommodation in Melbourne will be easier to get.

Shane, your level of perception is almost Jim Morrison-like at times. I could not think of a worse scenario. We beat the eagles in a GF and the rest of the footy world says " So what, you only beat the eagles, that doesn't count as a real win." I would rather play the Demons or Blues.

Terrible idea to play them at all in finals. Even at the derbys there are too many tossers in slime jumpers with Fremantle lanyards. Those "members" have probably passed their barcodes over already.

Out in straight sets I say.

I'm with the artist formerly known as on this one, for the following:
1. Weagles are more beatable at the G than the Weepoos I reckon
2. It would ensure victory in any office debate with weagles fans, as the following stats could be trotted out:
- since Freo have been in the comp (since premierships won before than don't count in office debates, and if Eagles fans protest, simply morph into a Fitzroy fan, since they've won more than 3), weagles premierships = 1; Freo premierships = 1; Freo wins in GFs against Weagles: 1; Weagles wins against Freo: 0. Debate over.
3. The sheer delight one would feel at wearing one's Freo gear in known WCE haunts for months, possibly years thereafter.

Now, of course this carries massive risks, but the higher the risk, the higher the reward I say. Of course, these may be words I regret......
