It is interesting how history and karma even things out!
Last year we lost important defenders in Michael Johnson and Luke McPharlin that cruelled our finals series, this year Sydney have lost Luke Parker and Keiran Jack from there midfield with doubts over McVeigh and Franklin, who was unimpressive yesterday.
Sydney will now have to travel to hostile Subi Oval which the AFL constantly try to ban for them year in year out and I suggest they will suffer the same fate they did in 2013, more over they will bow out in straight sets this year as Freo did last year because Finals footy is as much about maximizing ladder and home game advantage as it is about having your best team on the ground come the finals.
Whilst the media talk up Tigers Crows, Roos and Dogs ; 2 of these sides will be gone week 1 of finals due to cut throat eliminations. My money is on Roos and Crows getting rid of Dogs and Tigers, because Roos rested half their team and Dogs have been denied a final at their preferred home ground of Etihad.
This will throw up Swans v Roos and Crows V Hawks semi finals and likely prelims of Dockers v Hawks and Roos V Eagles. Although I'm not convinced that the Hawks can beat Crows so we could see Crows travel to Perth to take on Dockers. Mouth watering!
