CA, The Slime traded pick 28 to Brisbane for Yeo in 2013.
It's fair to say Freo would have had to give something similar or better. Freo got Apeness and A.Pearce in their first two 2013 Draft picks.
Brisbane used their pick 28 for Lewis Taylor who has been far more than handy for Brisbane.
If you listen to the media hype about Yeo, then you would believe Freo and Brisbane missed out, and the Slime got the best of that deal.
Me personally, I think all three clubs, Brisbane, the Slime and Freo all faired well and should be happy with no regrets.
(NB: Brisbane have history of losing WA players and they take these very personal).
As posted previously, Yeo is an excellent contested mark, is athletic and can be used as a utility player. But his disposal can be poor and turnovers and frees against are frequent. In late May, Slime supporters and media were talking him up as a Brownlow contender. His best game was his first +25 disposal game in his career and that was 29 disposals (and 4 goals) in Round 7 vs Gold Coast. The thing is, in that game Priddis had 39 disposals and 2 goals, Masten had 43 disposals. Yeo's next best game was R15 vs Adelaide when he had 26 disposals (& 3 goals). In that game, the Slime had 8 players with 26 or more. Gaff had 36 disposals and 3 goals.
I'm just saying, Yeo is good, but not (yet) as good as many believe (due to typical Slime media hype).
