It will be interesting to see how many Sydney players are 'rested' against GC at the SCG.
Franklin almost certainly wont play with a major back problem. I suspect other key players will have 'niggles' or GS. They have to travel some hours in a plane for the QF so fitness becomes a real issue for them.

Richmond can still pinch 4th spot from them, so Sydney are unlikely to rest too many players.

Unless Sydney want to try and dodge Perth.

I think Sydney will chase the top 4 double chance. That does sound like a few Sydney clubs I have walked past with a sideways look.

You gotta love Titus O'Reily:

Has anyone considered that we may beat Port next weekend? I reckon we could - even resting the old fellas and a dozen of our AA graders. If the Steves request getting Jetta and Ugle in for a run, we could take out Port in the last game of the season, the same way we stuffed them up in the first. We can win this game, now how great would that be to lift the spirits of those blokes stuck in the magoos!

Here's my resting and subs:
Pav (Tabs)
Sandi (Clarke or Hannath, both could play)
McP (A. Pearce)
Johnson (Smith?)
Mundy (Blakely if fit?)
Hill (Weller)
Neale (Ballard?)
Ibbo (Langdon)
Sutcliffe (Grey)
Suban (?) or Mayne (?)
I think Crozier and Duffy will play against PA..

Can Freo make the request to play Jetta or Ugle?

Are Freo looking at getting Ugle next year?

I've followed a few commentators on Monday, and I guess the Tuesday press (especially in Melbourne) will join in.
The general line seems to be 'its bad for the integrity of the game, but if we were Freo we'd do the same thing' and 'at least Ross signalled his intentions up front'.
Example: on Talking Footy on Monday night Tim Watson was worried about the commentators, the sponsors, the advertisers, Port Adelaide losing gate takings etc etc.
It wouldn't be too hard to see a reversal of attitude if the fixturing meant that every Melbourne team travelled West every second week. And they talk about 'the integrity' of the game!
The really amusing bit is that not a single commentator allowed the possibility (recognised on this site at least) that Freo's B team might actually win the game!
