What I learnt: Round 22
Not much but:
We are able to easily beat a very ordinary team ... As we should.
As much as I try, and I really do try, I struggle with ZeDs lack of impact on the game. He seems limited to spoiling the mark. After that he is a liability.
I love Griff's willingness to hit the contest in the forward line.
We've found another good midfield type in Langdon.
I'm over seeing good first quarters followed by three quarters of ho-hum treading water.

That Mcpharlin should play on for another year. I know who I'd pick to mark the comp's best power forwards each week and it isn't Rance. Sensational all season and his age is just a number.

That Jesse Hogan is gettable. Looked like an unhappy chappy out there and I think purple would suit. Melbourne need some players as well.
Best make the move now Jesse.

Adelaide have revealed the blueprint to make the Eagles into a very ordinary side.

I learnt we should package barlow with our next two first round picks for hogan.. he spent half the time turning the ball over to them.. could just about play for them

Langdon will be a jet.

Thankfully peel have a 2nd chance in the finals as they will be playing port next week.

If walterd or ballas played it would have been 80+. That or our mids have to learn to snap and take a shot rsther than 5 handballs and turning it over

Rested for Rnd 23:
Pav, McP, Johnno, Sandi, Mundy and a couple of others with general soreness.
Will play - A Pearce, Langdon, Clarke, Weller if fit and may be even Ballard. Tanner Smith? Hannath? Others?

There is truly no love for Zed. What did Hogan have - 2 goals from 4 marks?

Walter to be fair Zed did fist the ball ... often... and knows how to move a player off the play. Rolly was playing with them moving our players around a fair bit. I tip Barlow to be back in the middle during the finals - he still knows how to get the ball. We have seen a marked change in play this year - moving at every opportunity - ok they overdo the handpasses but come finals and our best players in their positions and we should look a lot better. Everything is set up for us this year - it couldn't be better.

I know that they are slightly different players but I think Langdon put himself ahead of Crozier today. Very composed and stayed in the game. Excellent debut.

Hogan looked good when he had space and time. Our forward line look good when they have the same. Don't sell the farm for Hogan. Work out a way to deliver well into our forward line. Part of it, is actually having forwards in our forward line to kick something to.

i) I'm confident that Ross knows what he's doing
ii) We look much better with Walters &/or Ballantyne
iii) There's no doubting any of our players determination and commitment, but disposal is still our biggest weakness (I'm looking at you Tendai, Tommy, Cam...)
iv) I think anyone except Bulldogs and North Melbourne could be premiers, but we're a better prepared team than we were in 2013.
v) I do admire the Fist of Zac, but overall, I think I'd rather have SCOS or A Pearce
vi) Going to work tomorrow will be very enjoyable
vii) Scrap the fireworks during the day
viii) turn the bloody loudspeakers down - I want to talk with people during the breaks, not listen to music, advertisement or crappy hyped-up radio wannabes

How many times did you see Hogan vs Dawson? Not many that I remember due to the ball rarely getting near them and when it did there being 3 other Dockers around. Dawson did nothing to be commended in that game, nothing much of use.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

i) Zac Dawson is highly under appreciated
ii) Peel rezzies have won two games all year, I don't fancy Peels chances next week against the Munchers.
iii) Matt de Boer still gives us something.
iv) Slime excuses will be a dime a dozen at work tomorrow...but deep down you know they are dreading facing Hawks 1st week up.
