Umm yeah, that has been common knowledge for the whole season. Not only are they the goods with umpires they also have the fixturing department on board. Who plays at home the week before a derby?

Fair go - if the shoe was on the other foot and it was Freo not travelling I reckon there would be a bunch of people complaining about a conspiracy driven by the AFL to deny Freo the opportunity to experience either travel, eastern states conditions and/or the MCG.
Jeesh.

Who plays at home the week before (and after) the Derby?

The away team in the Derby. Twice a year, every year.

And let's be frank, if you would've told me at the start of the season that the slime will finish in the top 2 and have 2 home finals, I would've seriously considered calling up Graylands to have you admitted...

FDB, you might want to recheck that. Slime v Blues earlier this year was before the derby. Im not even going to bother about past seasons.

The second last para in that report makes me wonder (not for the first time) why it is we have Peter Sumich as a forward coach.

FDB for the last couple of years at least Freo have had only 2 games at Subi in succession when they have played an away derby. As for west coast, I have not been interested enough in their fixtures to notice whether they have 2 or 3 games at Subi in a row until the last derby in which they got 3 in a row at Subi

R11 we were away to the Gold Coast then R12 we had the bye followed by two home games. Effectively nearly a month at home. We then travelled to Tassie and got pumped by the Hawks.
This home business is not all it's cracked up to be.
