TOPIC: vs Kangaroos

Right, its past noon on hump day so after much navel gazing, scapegoating, umpire trashing (all of which I have participated in to excess) lets look to the weekend AHEAD.

To quote my junior footy coach I reckon we can roll this mob. We play Etihad well and we owe them an away win for last year.

Changes for mine:
Ins: Elvis, The fist, Tabs
Outs: D Pearce, Scos, A Pearce

Things I'd like to see, other than a win:
-Barlow in the middle, playing for his spot.
-Sandi to seal his AA berth by smashing goldstien
-Brad Scott crying about something
-Boomer flattened.

Would like to see all those things, especially the last 2.

I also think we play NM much better in Melbourne than we do at Subi for some reason, so that gives me more confidence about the game.

I don't understand why we are not heavy favourites over kangaroo's?
We are vertually at full strength (minus the odd bite mark etc) plenty to play for. What better
Way to put last weeks umpire assisted first quarter debacle behind us than an exact repeat
Of stk game ?

Its become a bit of a must-win game too. If we lose this and the dawks & slime keep winning then the Port game will decide where if we finish top 2. Would much rather have a rest in the last round.

Kangas will not go down easy, they are a form team of the comp.

Moose being dropped would be harsh. He's actually been one of our more'reliable' types and this has been reinforced by Roly, who doesn't dish out praise often, speaking of him very highly on at least two recent occasions in media post game interviews.

If Elvis came in perhaps Moose up forward?

Previous years I was all for bagging D. Pearce. But this year I have managed to find a better appreciation of what he brings to Freo.
Yes he seems to go missing when we loose. In fact his 3 worst games for the season have been our 3 losses.
But he is not doing the big nasty clangers as often this year as he has previous years. Previous years his clangers would often result in turnovers resulting in opposition goals, but that has been rare in 2015.
Often when D.Pearce has a quiet game, it is because the opposition are on to him, which often lets S. Hill get off the lease, which is what happened this week against The Slime.
Freo desperately needs more i50's and D.Pearce is crucial to those.
He stays in the team until you have a better outside player that can get the ball inside 50 as often.
His 3rd quarter i50 to Pav resulting in Freo's 5th goal is why we need him.
He'll have off days, in Round 3 vs The Slime he had 10 inside 50's (which is massive).
Gone to bigfooty where there's fewer Docker Haters.

Elvis could have played last week, Lyon said, had it been a final.

We need to win this so the only change for mine would be Elvis in for SCOS.

Possibly give Clancee a run but no-one else at Peel did much last week to warrant a return.

Win this week and we can rest a few for Melbourne at home, if needed, and lock in top spot with a comfortable win.

Then, and only then, do we have then luxury of resting blokes en-mass from the Port trip and have everyone cherry-ripe for the 1st Qualifying Final the following Saturday night.

An extra tall defender is needed against North so no need to drop Moose.

In: AA Luke, Dawson, Clancee
Out: Scos, De Boer, Sheridan (improving but come finals I'd still rather have Clancee or Gu in the side).

Yeah, we need something to wipe out the bollocks I just read in the match preview ..... "PREDICTION: North Melbourne by two points" WTF!!! How?

It's possibly a crap idea, but seeing how the eagles three talls in the forward line hurt us at times, would it be worth playing three ruckmen? Bring in Clarke and rotate with two permanently forward. These two could help act as a diversion for Pav, with Walters and Mayne the other forwards.

It'll be surprising if Lyon won't go with the back six of Spurr, AA Luke, ZD, Sutcliffe, MJ & Ibbo. The missing member from 2013 GF is Duffield. I think with Fyfe having a run under his belt, he'll be primed for a big one. In saying that Brad Scott will be preparing an ambush. So while we beat th by 70+ points earlier in Rd 8, this is a tricky assignment. We're vulnerable but it's time we saw the Freo that pummeled teams in the first 9 rounds. Roly over to you.

here I'll make a radical suggestion - give Pav a rest - hard ground and all that. In Big Mac, Zed ... out Pav, KamikaziKid.

I think Etihad Stadium is Pavs Achilles heel.

Make sure we all get along to as many home games as you can this year. The great man is done, the bloke who has given everything and more has nothing else to give. This will be his last year.
