TOPIC: Derby final pledge

391 Derby final pledge 9 years 4 months ago #1

391
In the event of any derby final I hereby pledge not to use FFC barcodes, corporate tickets, general influencing skills, blackmail, or any other means to organise a ticket for a West Coast Eagle supporter: irrespective of whether that supporter is a wife, child, parent, family, boss, co-worker, lover, crush, saved your life multiple times, or just a random misguided member of the public. I promise to run appropriate due-diligence on anyone who claims they support two teams.

Signed

Signed. Four memberships here in 109 not available to slimers.

2013, we also purchased final tickets to Kardinia Park and didn't go so that a Geelong supporter couldn't grab the seats.

Shane, this needs twittering (or whatever the expression is).

In the event of a Derby final the ticket allocation will be 50/50 regardless of who finishes higher on the ladder.

Showdown final/Derby final
In the event of a showdown final between Adelaide and Port Adelaide, or a derby final between Fremantle and West Coast, club members are advised to familiarise themselves with the on-sale information communicated by the Club and the AFL. Members are also encouraged to purchase online as there will be high demand and limited availability for these matches. Members of each club will purchase from a protected allocation of seats and while one club’s allocation may sell out quicker than the other, the split of the member allocation will be 50/50.

And that is annoying, because, believe it or not, a significant number of slime supporters actually have dockers memberships. The reverse, of course, never happens. So in the event of a derby grand final, they will outnumber us.

But, that will only add to the enjoyment of their thrashing.

I'm ok with the 50:50 split ... That is fair.

I'm ok with Slime supporters who fork out their own cash for Freo memberships.

What I am not ok with is Freo members actively choosing to use an FFC barcode to take a WCE supporter.

What about Fremantle supporters who actively choose to give an Eagles supporter a fake barcode.

Oops I forgot to include the codicil that comes with the AFL ticketing schedule. Here it is...

Fremantle club members are reminded that the usual ticketing procedures will remain in force:

If you are unsuccessful in obtaining tickets in the ballot, please form an orderly queue at any of the gates, further tickets will become available shortly after the game commences and we anticipate all members will have their requirements satisfied by 3/4 time. As a special bonus, we can confirm that a limited number of members will have their tickets upgraded to the vacant West Coast Eagles' coaches box after 1/2 time.

Any Fremantle member who doesn't have a ticket at the commencement of the 4th quarter simply isn't trying.

P.S. Eagles suck.

Does anyone know what the betting odds are for a Derby GF at this stage. I think the obvious team combos in some sort of order would be:

Freo/WC
Freo/Hawks
WC/Hawks
Freo/Syd
WC/Syd
Hawks/Syd
then other combos involving Richmond and WB.

The key phrase in the AFL blurb is the split of the member allocation will be 50/50.
Back in 2013, for the PF against Sinney, our premium seats were on the first level of the three tier stand. I understand now why sardines might feel claustrophobic when tinned.
My niece missed out on tix early in the week - she tried again on Thursday before the game and got seats in Block 101. They came on sale once the AFL decided it didn't need them for sponsors/corporates/club tix etc.
On Grand Final day, the 'member allocation' was only about 10K to 14K as I recall. At Subi, I guess we could expect not much better than 10K to 12K seats.
[Someone might have a more accurate take on the figures, but I think the drift is right.]

Thanks Fre_Doh.
So the punters think it will be a WC/Hawks G final. So I'll save my fare, accommodation and ticket costs. I'll watch on TV.

Some interesting odds there, in my opinion. $34 for Freo v Richmond for starters.
