In the space of 3 months WC have gone from Rebuild phase and injusry depletion, to Premiership push.

You can't buy that sort of media puffery.

... nor the fact that you could put a totally different interpretation on those charts to make him look ordinary, very ordinary.
Examples:
Nic Nat trails on key stat
Champion Data statistics show that West Coast ruck man Nic Naitanui, with 166, ranks a long way third on the list of total hit-outs to advantage, trailing Todd Goldstein (North Melbourne) (a massive 209) and Aaron Sandilands (Fremantle) (197).
Sandi and Nic Nat neck and neck
The latest Champion Data stats show that Fremantle superstar Aaron Sandilands and West Coast journeyman Nic Naitanui are equally ranked on hit-outs to advantage at all ruck contests. While Naitanui has a marginal advantage (1%) on Sandilands at centre square hit-outs, Sandilands ranks well ahead in total hit-outs to advantage and total ruck contests per game.
Nic Nat could work harder
Latest Champion Data statistics show that West Coast player Nic Naitanui does not take nearly as many ruck contests per game (a paltry 58%) as Todd Goldstein (North Melbourne) (87%), Mike Pyke (Sydney)(73%) and Fremantle behemoth Aaron Sandilands (69%).
Respected football commentator Freoboy told 'The West Australian' that it was clear from these figures that Naitanui is not contributing as much as he should, leaving too many ruck knocks to his WCE team-mates.

There are lies, damned lies and statistics, but to say Nic Nat tops the charts for ruckmen is indeed propaganda. On their own graphic, the best this paper could report is Nic Nat tops one chart for ruckmen.

Whilst getting a haircut I read that article and had to chuckle. 0.1% better doesn't scream most dominant ruck men to me.
Also I'm pretty certain that it stated that Nonuts is in the ruck for 58% of the time and Big Sandi approx 78% of the time. I reckon you would find in that extra time frame Sandi has tapped down to Fyfe and Mundy for an extra couple of goals.

Bring on the derby. Time to shut these pretenders up.

A more accurate headline.

We Choose to Make a Big Deal of the One Particular Average Of a Stat Where Naitanui Came Out Negligibly on Top

Probably a bit too wordy though.

Looking at the stats from the last 4 games Sandilands and Naitanui have matched up on each other it is clear which ruckmen is better:

Sandilands:
Total Disposals - 56
Total Marks - 14
Total Goals - 0
Total Hitouts - 138

Naitanui:
Total Disposals - 36
Total Marks - 3
Total Goals - 2
Total Hitouts - 67

Sandilands towels him up every time! Double the number of hitouts, more marks and disposals!

If Naitanui makes the AA team this year ahead of Sandilands it will be an absolute travesty.

Prepare for a travesty KK. You know how much they love him, although Goldstein is really feeling even more love than Donuts at the moment.

Hit outs to advantage is so much easier when you've got blokes like the Wet Toast have for mids who no one pays any attention to. They could have a shopping trolley with them and still wouldn't get any attention.

He's winning the "frees for" stats and only given away 12 this year.

It's the head-to-heads that count. This year they go:

Sandilands v Naitanui: carnage
Goldstein v Naitanui: pantsing
Sandilands v Goldstein: all over red rover

The only team that's got close to Sandi this year were the Bulldogs.

*They probably are explicable, but I'm not interested...
