The Burswood stadium will also be the size of the MCG. So the extra oval will come in handy for adjusting to the dimensions of Carrara.

Honestly all i can think of when I see this location is, "people said I'd be made to build a castle in a swamp! And Ross talking to Pav saying " one day all this will be yours"
"what?...... the (electrified) swamp!?

When I was a King and a Mason - a Master proven and skilled -
I cleared me ground for a Palace such as a King should build.
I decreed and dug down to my levels. Presently, under the silt,
I came on the wreck of a Palace such as a King had built.

There was no worth in the fashion - there was no wit in the plan -
Hither and thither, aimless, the ruined footings ran -
Masonry, brute, mishandled, but carven on every stone:
'After me cometh a Builder. Tell him, I too have known.'

...
When I was a King and a Mason - in the open noon of my pride,
They sent me a Word from the Darkness. They whispered and called me aside.
They said - 'The end is forbidden.' They said - 'Thy use is fulfilled.
'Thy Palace shall stand as that other's - the spoil of a King who shall build.'

Is that a bouncy castle or water slide behind the stand? If so, Cockburn is all go go go in my book.

I think you'll find it's a high performance rapid aquatic elevation removal machine. Very similar to a water slide but it costs eight million dollars more.

And we're paying for it of course? That way we wouldn't have to go that bloody 12kms to the beach for recovery sessions.

You can tell they're catering to the Harbour Masters - check out the lawn bowls strip in front of the admin windows.

Polly I think you will find those lawn bowls strips are cleverly designed secret Liberal Heli-pads! Dun Dun DAAHHH!
That's right, good enough for Bronny on the east coast good enough for Col on the west. Driving to the new training venue is almost the equivalent of travelling from Melbourne to Geelong and I am sure the Libs will use this new wondrous facilitiy to host a few of their keggers (watching them land through the maze of high voltage wires would be a spectator sport in itself).

It's Cockburn so it seems more likely that that section is concrete slabs painted green.

Of course, with work underway at Cockburn, the admin can now turn their sights to what to do with Freo Oval, as they seek to maintain a ‘presence’.

Is it me, or is an awesome members / supporter club room shared between the three Freo clubs too obvious an idea? You’d have the South stuff at one end, East stuff at the other, and Dockers stuff (not unlike Kashmir) in the middle. You’d build a great big deck to watch WAFL games from, a big screen for away games (and send a couple of non-playing Dockers). You have training at Freo once a month with a BBQ on the deck for the supporters who don’t know where Cockburn is. I mean, it’s tokenism, but tokenism with a beer I could probably get behind.

But why do I get the feeling we’ll end up with a merchandise superstore?
