Am I the only one to think that Danyle Pearce is a luxury we can't afford?

D Pearce is not alone. You can't expect to get far in the finals with players of the standard of Crozier, Sheridan, Suban, de Boer, Sutcliffe and Taberner, especially with Johnson and Ballantyne wholly or partly missing (remember last year). What is difficult to understand is why Mzungu can't get a game and so many goers at Peel aren't given a chance - Grey, Weller, Ballard, Blakely, Hughes etc

I've been a big critic of D.Pearce in past years due to his numerous clangers and turnovers that have often cost Freo goals. But I haven't seen that this year and D.Pearce is just too valuable as an i50 contributor to question his position in the current 22.
I have noticed plenty of costly mistakes from Sutcliffe and I was a fan of his in 2014.
I have noticed some very questionable defensive work from Mzungu and I've always been a fan of him too.
Alex Pearce aside, the Freo youngsters are still getting shown up by the mature aged Freo players (& Sutcliffe) that get dropped to the Magoos.
Gone to bigfooty where there's fewer Docker Haters.

A bloke like Danyle Pearce needs to be considered as a whole package:
Weaknesses
i) Contests
ii) Thinking under pressure
iii) Perfection
Strengths
i) Pace
ii) Raking left foot
iii) Foil
iv) Ripping goals
;p

i) Hill is poetry in motion.
ii) Griff almost made me forget MJ is still out. It was fantastic to see Griff back. He's a Freo legend.
iii) Alex Pearce - what can i say? This boy is dynamite.
iv) A team can be top of the ladder for most of the season and still be talked down by the local media.
v) Eagles still suck.

HBF update today says that Johnno is 2-4 weeks away. At worst case this has him back in time for the derby.. so good luck to the slime forward line.

And dawson will be fit as well. A pearce forward.

Leave A Pearce where he is, he's learning fast, but that doesn't mean he will be a success up forward. As has been posted somewhere already, making the play up forward is a much harder game than being led to the ball and negating the play.

Luke forward would be more likely to succeed, if Johnno and Zac D both come back, and let Ibbo play the Duffield role.

I'd take SoS over Zac if he's free, but it's nice to have any of them available. A. Pearce just looks like he fits in and is confident, there's probably an option to use him up the ground if either of these two are fit.

You don't want Elvis at FF unless you gift him kicks from 20 out. Maybe even 15.

He asked the doctor if he'd be able to play football after the operation and the doctor said yes.

So assume he got the Steve Austin package.

They'd probably like to give Luke a week off before the finals, so timing wise, Silvagni, Dawson and Johnson coming back might work out quite well.

A. Pearce played his junior footy as a mid. I've noticed that he's quite capable below his knees. So that should give Roly a bit of flexibility when using him. But he's the replacement for AA Luke. There's no reason we can't play all of Luke, Alex, ZD and Johnno with Spurr and Ibbo as our small defenders. That's a strong back six in anyone's language.
