I'm loving it - not a big fan of having to rock up live but on telly we have had three absolute rippers. I think its a winner.

It sucks. Nothing worse than waking up the next day and realising it's not Saturday.

They weren't rippers because they were played on a Thursday.

Thursday night footy should be used for Eagles matches only as they both suck.

I'm with you Grub. I reckon a few Thursday games mid-year around the byes are a great result.

If we see more Thursday night games and as a a result the quality of Friday nights fixtures drop - that would be a shame. Im sick of seeing Carlton on a Friday already....
The Saturday arvo games have taken a hit - mostly yawn fests

As Shane also alluded to, the quality of the game is not dependent upon the night it's played.
I just like four nights of footy on the telly - with the option of flicking to the cricket, the cycling, the tennis or Inspector George Gently should Bwuce. Den, BT or anybody else give me the irrits. Or if the ooftits are playing.

Here's a big clue for the AFL and Channel 7 when trying to fixture their marquee games. All the Thursday night games have been good and they've all featured teams from outside Victoria.

Now who's excited about the big Carlton v Richmond game tonight.

Relax. It's just a fixturing hiccup. No Thursday night footy next week but offset by the Friday night blockbuster.
North Melbourne v Essendon.
Wow wee.

A game is a game is a game...

whenever it's played. Most of us are sick of seeing the same old teams enjoy the Friday night spot at the expense of other teams. They all deserve a shot at the spotlight instead of seeing the rich, big name clubs enjoy marquee billing week in, week out.

Besides, what better way to wind down after a hard week at teh grind than than by watching the Bombres cop another beating, this time from a team that can't really benefit from the win in a way that bothers top spot.

Relax. Be entertained. Here we are now.
