It's Fyfe who needs to be careful he doesn't blow his date with the Chas Brownlow Trophy.

Last season he was already ineligible when he smacked Lewis - who wouldn't given those circumstances. This season is a little different, wait til the GF instead.

I'm sure we all want to keep winning every game but they're all worth 4 points. I'd hate to lose a home game to Carlton the week after playing Hawthorn in North Antarctica, win or lose.

I think Carlton's post-Mick bounce is over now. Back to being basket cases...

I'm driving three hours to the game from Hobart on Sunday, then three hours back in what will no doubt be sub-zero temperatures in the dark. This is my one chance this year to see the boys live, so on behalf of the Freo supporters down here i'd like to see as near a full-strength team as we can field come down and play their arses off.

I know it's not really fashionable in the higher echelons of the club management to show any respect for the fan base, but if I wanted to see the development squad I'd fly back to Perth and watch a Peel game.

Your loyalty will be rewarded Cranky.

You might (just might) even get to see Lachie Weller.

They'll take a squad of 25, which will include Griffin, Mzungu and one of Brady Grey or Crozier. There will be a late change on Sunday. Either way, we'll win.

There's more of us than I thought here in Hobart. Not many, but when I moved i was half expecting to be the only one. It does give me a good choice of Freo plates for the car, but i may hold off until they decide to update to the new logo (I must have come around a bit in the last 5 years, damn you Steve's).

Today's Mercury back page still had the old logo on (pic incoming), so if it's good enough for Rupert Murdoch then maybe it is good enough for me.

Rumour has it Jeff Farmer is on the plane to Tassie. He's been named as the 'hypothermia line coach'

Thinking about it, the only reason we'd send a second string team is if we were scared of getting thumped. Scared of losing confidence by being thumped. The reasons for sending the second stringers a few years ago don't apply this time.

Even if we lose, the boys will learn from it. But I think it more likely that the Hawks will be doing the learning.

The problem will be getting him off the plane once he realises how cold it is.

A nip of whisky in the water bottles will get 'em going! No hypothermia after that. Might even kick straight?

I find that Scotch is better if mixed with Green Ginger Wine to ward off the cold. On the golf course that is.

Bit of Kirup Syrup will keep them warm and get them going, might give the hawks a shock if they decide to be unsociable as well.
