Anywhere, anytime, yeah, yeah. If Freo weren't 2 games clear I'm sure we could treat this game more seriously.

I see merit in what both sides are saying.
To win an 8 point game is always massive and the players have already had a bye recently.

But recent form and past performances in Tassie suggests we won't be winning.

Sure, treat every game on it's merits but this and St Kilda are two games where resting players could benefit the team in the long run.

I reckon we've had our "form slump" and need a good hard game to get everyone back into form. The positives of a good win outweigh the negatives for mine.

If you look at the possible teams for this game these two teams are very evenly matched. Hawks have home ground advantage (sort of) so they would have to be favourites, no question.
I'd give Sandi a rest and play Griff and maybe play Crozier forward for some additional goal scoring potential.
One thing is for sure we have to be all go when the first siren sounds. It has to be 4 quarters not 1 of effort.
Surprise pick - another Tassie lad Brady Gray?

This is the first time this season, we're going into a game as underdogs. Two games clear and on top of the ladder, and still little respect paid to Freo. If the order was reverse, we'd still be the underdogs. I'm with Fre_doh, all guns blazing this weekend. No one gave us a chance Sept 2013, in Geelong.

Mellors, do the AFL let us fly charter now? The AFL usually makes us fly Virgin in line with a sponsorship arrangement. Good luck getting there in much less than 6 hours, plus, you know, we have to fly back. So, 10-12 hours on a plane is about right.

Make a game of it, take the "A" team & 100% effort, give it our best shot to beat the Hawks then if anyone needs a rest, rest them next week.

Yeah I agree. Go out an smash them from the first bounce. We got em last time and we can do it again. They don't have Roughlips and they have that Vic Ego they carry around. They've been hot and cold this year so far so now it's time to size up.

I've just about had it with all the doomsayers and experts who don't give Freo a chance this week. I can guarantee no one in the worst tomorrow will pick Freo. Note to Roly, it's time we became unsociable to the unsociables. Pick your best team, fly over there, beat the living hell out of them, bank the 4 points, fly home and then listen to all the scribes comment on how unlucky the Hawks were.

We try to become unsociable, and you can be sure that the AwFL will find something in the rule books to make us suffer.

I wouldn't put anything past Alistair Clarkson — I think the concept of 'unsociable' stems directly from him.
Remember the 2013GF when he claimed that Sam Mitchell was simply playing 'sacrificial' to distract Crowley? Woeful excuse for the fact that Mitchell was beaten on the day. Pity they had a few others to stand up in his place in that match.
On a recent Virgin flight back from the Gold Coast game, I watched a replay of the 1985 elimination final in which Fitzroy beat Bombers by 1 point. At Waverley. Quaint. The really quaint bit was one of the players in knickerbockers! Perhaps, in view of icy conditions in Tassie this weekend, AAALuke250 should wear his thermal leg warmers.

They probably have a target in mind, but it won't be Ballas. What is there to gain from belting a bloke who constantly invites you to belt him?
