From the ABC radio commentary (which was mostly pro Richmond all day) it sounds like the Tiggers came home on the back of the umpires - Frees six to ZERO in their favour in last quarter. The usual modus operandi - interpreted from circumstances as described by the ABC:
. Pro Vic bias - Umps refused to give the non-Vic team legitimate Free kicks e.g. "great tackle - no free given"
. Inconsistency - especially "holding the ball" - even though exactly the same instance minutes earlier called other way
. Really soft free kicks paid e.g. in front of goal for "holding" of player not in contest & by ump 75m away
. Destroy momentum from GWS by "surprising" free kicks
. Allow Tiggers momentum to build unimpeded by allowing throws, dropping ball in good tackles etc
Could have been a big loss to Tiggers but very frustrating to listen to.
