Yeah but didn't you see he got injured in rnd 8 so he missed round 9 and 10 plus the 4 to 5 weeks on top of that, That's a total of 6 to 7 weeks

I wish you guy's could count, Jeez !

Blocker only won from eight last year because I had a crushed finger but being so hard core I pushed through the pain barrier and still managed to submit a side, I use that hand for balance while I type.

PurpleKit: 4-6 weeks for Nathan Foley (Richmond)

No, I can't give you that trade now, PurpleKit, but we can re-assess next week or the week after. I'm more than happy to count the weeks from the end of Round 1, so in two weeks if they are still saying 4-6 weeks, you have the Substitution opportunity.

I think that covers it.

He was listed as being more than 6wks out originally though so you had the opportunity to trade him out then. You can't just wait until he drops below the 6wk mark and someone you want pops up!
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Back in WA - thank God! I'm so pleased that Polly didn't have the right address for my home. (Thanks Mr Smiley for allowing Polly to trash your place. You're a jolly good fellow even though you were born on the wrong side of the ditch.)

As long as Slammo can show that the injury (or series of injuries occurred after Round X and that the AFL injury list doesn't expect the player back until Round X+6, I'm more than happy to allow the LTI substitution.

So, considering I've been out of the loop, Slammo give me the evidence of the X+6.

Welcome back Merc !

www.afl.com.au/news/2013-05-21/doc-larki...jury-list-round-nine

Sharrod Wellingham (ankle) - 5-7 weeks

www.afl.com.au/news/2013-05-28/doc-larki...njury-list-round-ten

Sharrod Wellingham (ankle) - 5-6 weeks

It doesn't work with the link from round 11

Doc Larkins' injury list: round 11

Sharrod Wellingham (ankle) - 4-5 weeks

Is that it ?

You mean we are allowed to trade a player at any point of his 6wks out?!

Yes, Biz. I've always allowed this. Even when we had players traded out under the thirteen week rule. The rule is in place so that a squad doesn't have to carry a player who cannot take the field. Sometimes the the AFL official 3-4 weeks estimate drags on for week after week and the player is out of action for much more than the published 3-4 weeks. To penalise a DFFL squad because the injury length is either unknown or untruthfully estimated seems unfair.

I'll check Slammo's references and allow the LTI substitution if it shows Wellingham out for six weeks or more - from whatever date.

I agree that should be the case for those players whose diagnosis is incorrect and they then go on to be out for 6 or more weeks like Beams at the start of the season. I don't think it's the same for a player initially diagnosed at more than 6wks and whose return date has come under the 6wk period now (and not proven to be misleading). There's been a few weeks in which Wellingham could have been shafted and it wouldn't have been a problem, now I think it's too late to drop him.

You can have Chappo Slammen, he won't be back for our clash and there's no guarantee he'll be back for any finals matches you may play! He's the most likely candidate in the AFL to be rested and looked after ahead of finals every year.

I'm just not a fan of exploiting rules like that when you've had the opportunity to make a trade, seems to be more of your own doing holding onto a player who isn't playing when you had the opportunity to trade him out under the LTI rule. I got rid of Grimes before he went under the 6wk mark despite his return date being unspecified for that reason.

Hey Biz,

Rules are made to be exploited, preferably though it should favour me and hinder Slammo.

I tend to think the injury "interpretation" is ok as is.

From my reading of it, you have to prove the 6 weeks at time of substitution, so if you get a 6 week injury, hang on for say 3 weeks then go trade, but the current injury list shows a reduction to say 2 weeks - then you're likely to have done your dash.

Of course all this would be irrelevant if the only rule I want was to be formally legislated being:

Anything to beat Slammo

On a different note, I'm hoping you are getting your Flash Gordon outfit ready in preparation for your upcoming Slammo clash:

Flash a-ah
Savior of the Universe
Flash a-ah
He'll save every one of us

(Seemingly there is no reason for these extraordinary intergalactical upsets)
(Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha)

Flash a-ah
He's a miracle

Flash a-ah
King of the impossible
