I see that the AwFuL high ‘n’ mighty are all over here in WA for a couple of days, discussing the state of the game. Maybe if a few of these people feel a bit weary, or not quite 100% after the long cross-country flights, perhaps they’ll spare a thought for the young footy players based here in Perth, who have to make the return flight every other weekend during the season?
Probably not.
One small step towards relieving a bit of the travel burden for non-Victorian clubs (can’t bring myself to use the arrogant term “inter-state”) would be to restrict games in Launceston to just between Melbourne based clubs.
