I like Jack Martin. Our small forward brigade is missing a little class and finishing, and I think he has it.
The problem is that he's only a slight improvement on Sam Sturt - and I think if we played Sam Sturt every week Sam Sturt would be a slight improvement on Sam Sturt - and JLo doesn't seem particularly inclined to give our own Sam Sturt a run, so I'm not sure we should got out and pay for another guy who is told to improve their 'intensity' at Peel.
I always think of Vonnegut's novel Mother Night when I think of Andrew Bolt (which mercifully isn't often these days). The moral of that novel is we are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be. It always felt to me that Bolt was playing the part of an exaggerated version of himself, and somewhere along the line forgot he was playing a role. I almost feel a bit sorry for him, because it can't be healthy walking around so cartoonishly aggrieved all the time.
