Looking at the Brown hit, there was free kick paid, the MRO assessed the incident as careless with severe impact and high contact. Three weeks. Doesn’t look like GWS will challenge.
It seems to me this was an entirely predictable and fair outcome arrived at with a minimum of fuss or consternation. I realise there will be some whataboutism – why didn’t Schultz get longer for a deliberate hit, why did Maynard get off for a mid-air bump/brace after spoiling? – but if you line up all the events like-for-like they are pretty clear about the bumping thing.
