With where our picks were likely to be, we were never going to do much in this draft and to be honest, there wasn't much talent to get excited about. Up until Curtin was picked, those players were all fantastic but you could throw a blanket over the next 20 as they are pretty much the same.

We didn't have a chance at any of those players so predicting who we'd pick up is incredibly difficult. Mannagh sounds like someone we're looking at with a late or rookie pick and for his family ties, apparently O'Driscoll is being strongly considered but I don't really rate what I've seen from him so I'm not too excited there.

Mitch Edwards has talent and was a likely top 10 pick at the start of the season who hasn't come on as well during the year as hoped. It's always the way with tall talent who are so hard to predict development wise. I do hope he slips past 40 so we can match a bid but another young development ruckman is not really a priority, just a bonus.

Other than that, no players we've been connected with or spoken about really interest me. Few remaining players are game changers or have the potential to be so we'll see what the recruiters do this afternoon. Hopefully they have a diamond in the rough to uncover.

I'm excited by what Mitch Edwards may bring in the long term but I'm just a bit concerned for what it means for our other talls, especially Max Knobel and Liam Reidy who both seem to be coming along quite well. I was particularly impressed by Reidy's efforts for Peel in the WAFL Grand Final where he never gave up in a losing cause and ended up being the dominant big man on the ground. I'm not sure we need Edwards now but we'd be mad not to take him if possible.
I'm hoping for Mennagh, Edwards, O'Driscoll and Zakasteltsky to come our way today

If Odin Jones has potential as a tall backman ( as the article suggests) ... well... it's a no brainer.!

We could lose Pearce , Ryan, Cox ( via age, injury, or trades) all in close proximity....and as far as i can see, there's bugger all replacements, which is why Oscar Mcdonald - at 27 - has been recruited...

Have no idea if he can play footy,, but, ..."Odin" ..... .it has cult hero written all over it.!!

ZZ is also a tall defender who would have pinch hitting rucking capacity. Looked good in the colts GF this year, would be a handy pickup if still there when we get a pick.

easy - 34 pre draft is now 42 or thereabouts
46 pre draft is now 54 or thereabouts - we jumped ahead a fair bit with those trades given academy & FS selections..

I cant wait until we have all these FS coming through - just in time for the VFL to change the rules no doubt
